I live more than an hour away from the Hot Pot and don't get up in this area too often. But I have eaten at the Hot Pot twice in the past year, both times for lunch, and in each case there were four of us. I thought the food was pretty good, and the service also. Prices were reasonable and they make an effort by adding little touches (a plate of dry noodles and a dipping sauce while you are waiting for your order, and a little pudding at the end of the meal). Our waitress was attentive and, unlike some restaurants, we did not have to get her attention to get more water or tea. But I do worry about the lack of customers. The previous restaurant in this location, also Chinese, went under, and I hope this one survives. We were the only customers when we were there, on a Thursday, although someone was leaving with a takeout order as we arrived. I hope they have more customers in the evenings and on weekends. As some other reviewers have noted, the restaurant does not have much "curb appeal" and this may have an effect on their business, as well as their location just off a busy intersection with parking only a few feet off of busy Rt. 5. and not in location such as a strip mall or shopping center that would attract more impulse customers. But I'm rooting for them, hope they are able to make it, and encourage others to give them a try.
I had dined here once before and accidentally underrated this restaurant. I attempted to correct my error with TripAdvisor, but they would not correct my error. The food, service and quality of the meal are all excellent. I highly recommend this location and restaurant to all.
