Your typical Chinese food, it was ok. But the "Shrimp with mixed Vegetables" only had a few shrimps (5-6?), then the rest, which I thought was going to be vegetables, turned out to be onions!! ($0.79 lb at Walmart). ... I do not mind onions, but NOT when there are lots of them, . ... I was so overwhelmed by the onions, I had to start picking them out, it was really easy because there were so many! When I finished, I had over a cup full of onions! Out of the 4 dinners we ordered, not everyone was satisfied. Another issue was the Mongolians beef we ordered, this item literally only had 5 (five) pieces of beef in it!!. The rest was mostly onions (again), and some mushrooms & carrots. This was very disappointing, although the meat was good. Fortunately, we shared our dinners, if we did not do this, this one person would NOT have had that much to eat in her order. We went back and mentioned the fact of so MANY onions in our dinners, and the lack of shrimp and beef, to one of the workers at the cash register, to see if somebody (management) would do something about this??? ,,,, Example: give us a discount, or make up for it some way. The lady (perhaps the owner) said: "No, this is the way we cook our food!"Well, this was the LAST time I order or eat in this establishment!! ,,, btw, there are other Chinese restaurants in this Channahon, IL area, Changs Garden (pretty good, very little onions with orders), another one, Hong Kong Restaurant in Morris, IL .
Was not impressed for the cost and the high rating. Food was just ok and I believe over priced. We will look elsewhere next time the family wants Chinese food.
I had a taste for crab Rangoon and we decided to try this place. It is strictly carryout. The phone did ring quite a few times before someone answered, but she was very efficient when she finally did answer it. We had a menu with the entrée numbers on it, so I ordered that way. Besides the crab Rangoon, which were generously filled, we got sesame chicken and jumbo shrimp fried rice. The portions were large enough for dinner and lunch for 2, and those were the small orders. The sesame chicken had a really good sauce on it that was slightly sweet, and there were 3 broccoli florets with it. That came with white rice, but we ordered the fried rice also. There were 7 or 8 medium sized shrimp in it. The box was so full they had to staple it shut. Even driving home with it, everything stayed hot.
We had chicken fried rice, which had only fried rice and chicken- no vegetables, no egg. We also had the vegetable lo mien, in which the primary vegetable was large pieces of onion. They do have dinner specials, which we did not know about when we ordered. They might be better. You cannot really eat in here. It is take out only

For my husband's birthday, he likes to order Chinese food, but since moving to Shorewood we haven't found a great place from which to order. Until now. I ordered him a dinner special and picked it up. The service was fast and friendly; the food was ready quickly and the front desk employee was polite as he greeted me when I arrived and thanked me for coming in when I left. My husband's order was correct (I mention this only because I've had bad experiences with correctness of take-out orders). It smelled and looked delicious upon opening the boxes. There was a lot of food and it absolutely was delicious. For the affordable price, great service, and great food, we will be using China Cook as my husband's go-to for Chinese in the future.
