Great little restaurant that has been an institution in Brighton for years. Never has the standard dropped with food or service. Has a function room upstairs that is perfect for small medium parties etc. Their lunch special is excellent value and delicious. Canât go wrong here.
Better than the typical asian meal you´ll get around Melbourne, mainly because of more flavors and the spicy sauce. The cold beef meat in sauce was very tasty, and the same goes for the pork rice dish. I didn´t like the homemade noodles very much, but they were made in the traditional chinese way.Located away from the main street, so kind of difficult to find if you don´t know have a map available. Recommended if your planning on dining in Carnegie.

We often visit for takeaway sushi handroll. I've had better but it is convenient. We recently ate in and tried other dishes. Serves are a good size and food is no better or worse than similar restaurants. Prices are very reasonable. Noise level is high. Staff are always busy but friendly.

Friendly helpful staff. Food was delicious and plentiful. We had Crispy Skin Tofu $12.80. Oblong pieces of fried lightly salted tofu on a bed of mixed lettuce leaves and Black Pepper Beef $19.80. Beef slices in a black bean sauce and vegetables. We also made a special order (it wasnt on the menu) of stir fried vegetables. It was strange that it wasnt on the menu but they made it up anyway. It was disappointing as it consisted of sliced celery, a couple of pieces of broccoli and a few bits of baby corn in a delicious sauce. We didnt book and had no problem getting a table for lunch even though it was Easter Sunday. This place is open 7 days a week. The atmosphere is great and plus we were the only Caucasians. Bashuge is as authentic as it gets. We loved the whole experience and will definately be back again soon. :)

Our group of 11 had dinner here. I had the lemon chicken, rice and pancakes which were very good. The service was good and atmosphere. Only things they could improve on is they could have more drinks on the list and close the front door as a cold draught was on us. Will definitely return.

The pan fried pork dumplings here are seriously good especially when eaten with the spicy chilli sauce. The Shanghai noodles with pork are yummy too but they are very mean with the pork - far too mean! Highly recommend their frozen chicken and prawn dumplings which you can buy to cook at home.

Bought a Scoopon deal and it was great value. The restaurant was very busy at 6pm but service was quick and great choices even with the limited deal we thought the variety was fantastic. The dumplings were sooooo fresh and hard to stop eating but the plate was huge as were our other meals and soup. Chinese tea was unlimited and the people were friendly would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yes sure it was Saturday night which is a busy night for restaurants although, our experience was very disappointing. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and we believe it has changed ownership. We had a reservation and was seated to our table almost immediately. Then we waited, and waited, and caught someoneâs attention to order. And then waited again. Our patience wore thin after waiting 30 minutes longer to receive anything. Unfortunately they forgot two dishes and we finally moved on after almost two hours. After saying all that, the food was good.

Auntie's is a bit of an institution around Carnegie, it is where you go when you're looking for super tasty dumplings, provided quickly, when you're not fussed about service quality or fancy surroundings. If you're expecting high quality customer service or plush furnishings, go to one of the higher priced dumpling houses all around Melbourne.
