It is located approximately 115 miles (185 km) southeast of St. Louis and 175 miles (282 km) north of Memphis. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the city's population was 37,941, making it the 16th-largest city in Missouri, and the largest city in Southeast Missouri. An emerging college town, it is the home of Southeast Missouri State University.

Went here for a late lunch earlier this week, and even at 2:00 pm the food was fresh and continuously being restocked. Lots of choices and well executed Chinese recipes. Highly recommend. Also an excellent value. Cost was less than $17 for two persons. Woohoo!

A group of us visited on a Saturday evening. The facility was clean, and the staff was very friendly.The staff, unfortunately, was unable to answer a few questions about the menu offerings. We ordered dinner and, while the food was adequate, it was not up to the standards of other Asian restaurants in the area.If you are stuck on that side of town, then the Little Kitchen will serve you well. If you can get out and about, however, there are much better offerings.

In fairness it has been a few months since we were last at Chinatown Buffet. In days past sometimes we have stopped there if we were going right down Kingshighway because of the convenience. We've never been impressed with the food. 'We" means all five in my family. To me, most of it tastes like it's cooked in old oil. The food isn't completely disgusting, but it's highly disappointing.

Okay, so I lived in China for 3 years. Chinese American food hasn't appealed to me since I was 15 years old. Good Chinese food is cooked with a variety of flavors, uses fresh ingredients, is not greasy, is not overcooked, doesn't use much wheat flour nor much cornstarch . . . Tex-Mex is bad but Chinese-American food served in most restaurants in Cape is nothing close to true Chinese cooking. The only place I'll eat Chinese in a restaurant in this town is at Chan's & I ask for the Chinese menu which is not the usual menu.

You can watch as the chef cooks your order.The staff is always friendly and helpful.This restaurant is set up as a drive-through, pick-up or delivery-type restaurant. It's not really set up for dining at the location itself.

My friend and I had lunch here today on March 15, 2016, before we went to vote in the presidential primary. The buffet was well stocked and everything was so delicious. Owner and waitress couldn't have been any nicer. (If you leave here hungry, it's your fault). We had a fun visit!*I would appreciate your vote, if you like China Palace, too.*

There have been many Chinese/American restaurants come and go in our city. Chan's has held steadfast for many years, by serving quality food, in a neat and clean environment, with reasonable prices, and a friendly wait staff. I predict they will be here for many years to come, because they have the best Chinese/American food for the money. If you have never dined at Chan's, you don't know what you are missing. They are not a buffet-style restaurant, but a true sit down and enjoy being waited on place, that I enjoy going to often.
