Things to do in Bowling Green
China Village is our favorite restaurant for carry out orders, but from time to time, we enjoy eating their because of it's atmosphere, delicious and reasonable choices on the menu, and wonderful, friendly service. Not only that, there are great luncheon choices for only $3.50. The food is delicious and meat is plentiful as well as vegetables in all of our favorite dishes, sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour chicken, and almond boneless chicken. The tables can be pushed together if you dine with a larger group. Once I was there for lunch with 8 friends. It is not difficult to find, but watch for the location carefully once you head west of Main St. on Wooster.

Our first visit was a very good experience. The staff was attentive and friendly. The table service was neat and clean, even though the restaurant was having a busy Friday evening. The food and presentation was top-notch, and tasty, not bland as some "chinese" restaurants are. I just wish they could warm their plates, as the food got cold rather quickly. We will go again.

Hands down, the absolute BEST Chinese take-out in the greater Bowling Green area is Bamboo Garden. Authentic, fresh and well portioned dishes, this gem is a recent discovery and an instant favorite. Such a hospitable staff and an incredible, easy-to-use website for ordering (take-out, or delivery!). We have become frequent patrons of their outstanding cuisine in the past six months...never disappointed.

Upon entering, the restaurant only had people at 3 tables in the large dining room, but every other table except one booth was full of dirty dishes from prior guests. Every single one! We didn't see anyone leave when we entered, so not sure how long dishes had set there. The food was okay, but not much in each pan. They did refill a couple of pans of food while we were there. I picked up two plates before I found a clean one to fill at the buffet. I picked up three bowls before I found a clean one for soup. These had been washed, but had dried food on them. I do not think we will return, I have heard good things about "The China", and I've heard they are CLEAN...we will go there next time.

In town on business to purchase a car, we stopped here on our way out of town for a quick and filling lunch. The lunch buffet was reasonably priced and didn't disappoint us since we were expecting a typical chinese buffet. The dishes were good to very good. The items were fresh and temperatures were what one should be able to expect. The salad bar portion was lacking, but the hot foods offered a lot of variety including sushi. Not the best and far from the worst we have had. It filled us up and was a good, fast, and reasonable option for people from out of town who didn't know the options and didn't want to simply grab fast food.
