Welcome to a capital city whose story goes back at least 3000 years. In Beijing, you'll find a wealth of history, both ancient (the Hall of Preserving Harmony, Summer Palace, Forbidden City) and more recent (Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Tiananmen Square). For the best market experience, choose the Dirt Market over the touristy Silk Market. A visit to the Great Wall, the longest manmade structure in the world, is absolutely essential.

Hyatt has done an amazing job with its Made in China experiences. Each location is slightly different and the food is phenomenal. We had a fantastic culinary experience at this high end restaurant. You walk in and are immediately exposed to the kitchen wonders. On the right, Peking Duck is getting baked and smoked in the open fire oven. A little further down the busy wok kitchen is at work on a variety of stir fries. We ordered 1/2 Peking duck. It was cut up and served right in front of us. Pieces of fresh hot crispy skin. Dip it in sugar and it pops in your mouth. Then try some of the softer meat. Dip it in sauce, place it on a wrap and add some of the sliced onion and cucumber, it was delicious! We also got the incredible honey glazed shrimp. Sooooo good. For a third we got a cabbage served with chestnuts. Also delicious. We paired it all with a chinese white wine. A delicious semi sweet Riesling. Pretty darn good. Also had glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon. Also delicious wine. It was by the best pairing with this particular meal but I was keen on trying some local wine. On our way out we saw the Head Chef Kent Jin at work. Overall a great experience and wonderful food.Dear Emtko, We are delighted that you had such a pleasant experience with us at Made in China. The Horizon Chinese Restaurant is famed for its traditionally prepared wood-fired Beijing duck. The finest quality farmed duck, hung grilled and roasted over jujube wood to produce a thick, crispy melt-in-your-mouth experience. Enjoy exquisite double-boil
We had dinner here (not the Peking Duck) service was excellent but the food arrived to the table lukewarm, and the dishes we had ordered (bbq pork, duck, shrimp etc) were generally bland tasting. Nothing special about the food, try elsewhere we would suggestDear SpadeAndBucket,Thank you for sharing your experience with us here on TripAdvisor. This is a big space and attracted large crowd however they had a good system and kept it all under control. The variety of food/cuisine are plentiful- they have anything you could possibly imagine. E.g. lobster you get to choose boil or bbq. Oyster from New Zealand or France. They were quite good quality too. Upon arrival, you also get a sea urchin to share between 2. They also bring out their trolleys from time to time offering side table choices. Good concept how they mix it up. Not sure why offering pumpkin soup in apr and decorated in fallen leaves. Maybe more suitable for autumn? Full of expats but I can imagine why itâs a good place to go with your friends. Must go if you are into brunch.

We are a reservations-only dining experience offering a set menu of ten courses and two wine pairings in an open kitchen where you'll learn the secrets of Chinese cuisine.
We recently had the pleasure of making dumplings and dining at Black Sesameas part of the ISP China Study Tour and I have to say it was one of the most outstanding meals I have ever had in my entire life and I pride myself in being . foodie. We particularly liked the shitake mushroom salad, the eggplant dish and thepork belly dish, they were absolutely outstanding and the whole experience was one of the stand outs of our time in Beijing. Thank you Black Sesame Kitchen you did not disappoint Warm regards Edwina Sunshine Coast Australia

A trend-setting Seafood restaurant specializing primarily in Cantonese & Sichuan flavors. 6 individually designed private dining rooms, each self sufficient with own service facilities. This is a perfect setting for elegant dining.
For the service, it was very great. The staffs are friendly and very polite. The location is good BUT the parking is HORRIBLE! The restaurant decorations are welcoming and looks nice. It is also a quiet and you have your personal space. The dimsum buffet costs 188 rmb per person and it is a net price. You can eat as much as you can. However I personally think the taste and quality of the food is so so.The dumpling skin is TOO THICK, the rice rolls also. The mango sago is way to sweet. The custard bun has far too less fillings and not hot. The good one has to have the filling oozed out when you bite. This is not the case.I prefer the quality and the taste at the opposite house more.

Happened to bump into this restaurant from our Great Wall trip back to city and remembered someone told me about here.Conveniently located at Lama Station. Price wise is expensive but the food presentation, taste, creativity plus the services, I guess worth to try if you like upper scale veggie. Will I try it again? Maybe yeah....

We were staying at the Renaissance Beijing in Wangfujing and decided to try Wan Li one night, not expecting much. What a wonderful surprise! Every dish was absolutely delicious, with a special mention to the Peking duck (best to order in advance, they tend to run out quickly) and the roasted goose. Very stylish decor. We came back the next day... and the day after that. By far the best Chinese food we've had during our 2 week trip around China! Most waiters do not speak English, which can make things a bit tricky at times, but the service was good nevertheless.

There are several options available for dinner buffet. Indian, Chinese, Western. I had an Indian-spiced lamb chop that was perfectly cooked. Nan was good. Lobster claws were tender but salty. Salads looked a little old. The desserts were not very good--at least to Western tastes. The ice cream was good (only 1 scoop of ice cream is offered--you must specifically ask for more). There are containers of orange juice, water, and milk tea (cold) available at the entrance. I don't know if alcohol is available. We couldn't track down anyone to ask. No one removed our dirty plates.Overall, disappointing. The restaurant tables, placemats, chairs could all stand a good scrubbing.Dear jillalex, thank you for taking time to write a comment for us. I would like to express my regret for the disappointment you experienced during your dinner in Cafe Cha. Food quality and service standards are of utmost importance to us as we continuously strive to improve our service levels. We will use this feedback constructively to ensure we are more vigilant monitoring this area. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to offer you a true Shangri-La experience. Thank you and best regards, Stephan Kapek, General Manager
