This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Arendal. On the international level the menu is not too exciting but on what you can expect from most normal Chinese restaurants in Norway - the menu is better than most. The prices are friendly too here. The food always looks great, and the service is good. It's a busy place and they do take out as well, so at their busiest hours there might be some waiting time to get your food, but normally it's quick. I can recommend their delicious Tom Yum Kung soup for starters.

Continuing the heist of finding a good Chinese restaurant in Norway (after a huge disappointment last week in Lillesand), we went today to Hong Kong Restaurant in Arendal.Located at the first floor of a corner building at 3 min walk from the Trinity church, you will find a clean place, simple decorated but still with traditional motives. At the hour when we arrived, it was still running the lunch buffet, but, because the choice was very limited we chose to have a la cart. Menus in English available, good choices and variated. We went for 6 courses menu for 2 persons, and it was great. All the dishes very well prepared and with the great traditional taste. Especially the pork was just wonderful, and the beef very soft. Big enough, and even if we were pretty hungry, we couldnât finish it. The waitress that served us was prompt and quick. Not the most stylish restaurant, but for sure one that has a great taste of the food. Weâll return shortly with no doubts.

Ting Hai Restaurant was established in 1977. Today, it is Arendal's oldest restaurant and Norway's 4th first Chinese restaurant. At Ting Hai you will find a variety of cuisines, but primarily Chinese and South East Asian food. The owner, Tony Lim, was born
Ting Hai Restaurant is one of the oldest Asian food restaurants in Norway. Over the years, the menu has not had many changes - the restaurant needed "something new" and a face lift.Yesterday we went to the reopening of the restaurant and was surprised at how nicely everything was - the food and the service was just perfect.Ting Hai has reduced the menu and focused more on exciting new flavours and dishes from South Asia. As a "heavy" tea drinker, I was surprised to see that the Lim family (this is indeed a family owned restaurant) offers a great variety of Asian tea. Perfect! The most special thing in the restaurant except the food is of course the service of the Lim family and their workers. You feel welcomed and taken care of all the time during your stay!
