Had a craving for authentic Oriental food and there is NOTHING worthy of trying in my immediate area so we took the 30 minute drive to Red Pepper. Weâve visited before and were never disappointed. The place is a little run down but as long as the food is good who cares ? We were greeted friendly and seated right away. We enjoyed the complimentary tea and noodles with dipping sauces. Our server (as well as the others we noticed) were very cordial. The menu here is extensive as can be expected at a place serving Asian cuisine. I donât like veggies so I try to order things with a lot of meat and noodles. Our party got won ton soup (delicious flavor), Kung Pao chicken, General Tso chicken and beef with vegetables. The meals also came with a TON of rice and Lo Mein. All were really tasty with just the right flavors. Meals came out really fast and HOT ! We also got the Spicy beef and Sweet\Sour chicken to go. They, too, were good. My only complaint was the Spicy beef had very little beef and a HUGE amount of onions/carrots/peppers. I was also disappointed that the online menu I found prior to arriving was quite different than the dinner menu at the restaurant. Online you could order the usual large or small portion. On the menu this was not an option. When all was said and done we had enough food for about 7 people (took a lot home) and I think the total bill was only about $63. I feel we got our monies worth. Portions were very large.cant wait to go back !

Mandarin is an eat-in/take-out restaurant with ample parking and located on a busy strip. The place is clean an updated and the staff is very friendly and efficient. We had a Groupon, went there for a late lunch, and were not disappointment. Our server brought out crispy wonton strips and sweet/sour dipping sauce to start, which was fine. I chose a fried egg roll with my combo, and it was hot and cispy-chewy-delicious! The food orders came very quickly and were hot off the stove. I had the typical General Tso Chicken, which was better than average with smaller pieces of chicken, broccoli, and really good fried rice. The presentation was appealing and the flavor was great. My wife had Vermicelli with Shrimp, which was very tasty and also a decent portion size. The entire meal worked out to just over $20 plus tip. Overall this was better than average Chinese at a good price, in a convenient location, and with great service. We'll definitely return in the near future.

Back after moving out of town,4 years ago, to enjoy lunch at my "go to" Chinese restaurant for the previous 10 years in Williamsville, NY. Soup was good but cold. Had to have it placed into microwave. Sauce, shrimp, veggies, were tasteless. No amount of soy sauce or mustard could revive it. Service was just OK. My friend's lunch was fiery, a dish he has had before without complaint. "What's UP?"

This is the only "Hot Pot" restaurant place I know of in WNY. When you first go in to the restaurant you will think that you have entered some exotic joint along the strip in downtown, Hong Kong, because you are surrounded by Mega sized televisions with Chinese people filmed singing Karaoke. Of course, there is a stage and a mike all set up for you after you have gorged yourself on some of the most interesting cuisine you can experience in this town. The Hot Pot is a special heating element in the shape of round pot (of various sizes) and it is at each seating arrangement. If you order the special soup used for the pot, you will be served a platter of food carefully selected by you that looks like it should feed at least three people. You then proceed with some instruction from the wait staff in cooking your meal. It is terrific fun and you can gorge yourself without feeling stuffed. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. It is a unique way too eat and I think everyone should try it. It is so much fun. You can order more traditional Asian fare as well and I thought the walnut glazed shrimp was out of this world. The dumplings are extra special too. Try it. I think you will like it.
