Find out what Central European restaurants to try in Zurich. The largest city in Switzerland is a major contemporary art and shopping destination. Important artworks are displayed in the Kunsthaus and the Rietberg Museum, while those who consider shopping an art can hone their skills along Bahnhofstrasse and Niederdorf. Chagall's stained glass windows in the Fraumunster amaze and Zurich's 500 clubs and bars, including several in swimming pools, pulse with life 'til the early hours. This city on Lake Zurich has excellent public transit and a free bike rental system.

Great location just off BanhofstrasseRelatively small place : 2 big downsides, the wine list is very short (and priced pretty highly), and there are only 2 waiters (and I imagine a small cooking staff), so the service was really slow (despite making clear we had a train to catch and giving a lot of notice we still had to leave the place in a rush)My starter of steamed spring roll was rather good, though the chicken was too dryThe main of seared tuna was excellentDisappointing desert though (molten chocolate cake) - both too small and a touch too dryIf you have plenty of time, might be worth a visit, but you pay premium price for the location I imagine, and you can find better experiences imho

Arrived on a Tuesday evening which seemed to be the start of the 'Wild' or 'game' season for this restaurant. Parking was ample and easy to get ti by tram. Very traditional deco, cosy and welcoming service. Restaurant was very full. Wine list excellent with some ' please try me' Swiss numbers. Food was very tasty and fresh, I had a well prepared Venison with all the expected trimmings, mopped up every morsel! My dining guests also enjoyed. Would come again. Conclusion, good, honest hearty seasonal locally produced food that hadnt been messed about with, 10/10.

The Pavillon, Baur au Lac's recently refurbished restaurant, features fresh and modern cuisine within an environment that effortlessly fuses contemporary and classic style. Head Chef Laurent Eperon creates an artful combination of traditional ingredients
My husband and I had one of the most unforgettable culinary experiences of our LIVES at Baur au Lac's Au Pavillon! The Chef is incredibly talented and the menu changes regularly. Truly a delectable variety of traditional Swiss fare, the Swiss veal is not to be missed, with the most beautiful cheese cart we have ever seen to follow for desert. Wine pairing is definitely recommended, we were in heaven!Dear lexandzachtravelThank you very much for your visit and for sharing your feedback here on TripAdvisor. It makes us very happy to hear that you have fully enjoyed your recent visit and that we succeeded in meeting your expectations. We are especially flattered to read your compliments about our Swiss specialties and wine offer.Feedback like yours are what keeps us motivated every day. The Hotel Sternen Oerlikon has had its own restaurant once again: the Restaurant "O" with bar and salon du cigare."O" is a succinct designation which stands for Oerlikon, the district of Zurich that the Hotel Sternen Oerlikon has been closely connected wi
Excellent service, friendly, helpful, good business lunch and others, very comfortable seating, rather quiet without unpleasant music. Dessert is a tiny bit on the sweet side but beautifully presented. The price of the business lunch is acceptable for an expensive city like Zürich. My friends have lamb, they find it good. The service is very attentive. Definitely recommendableDear Madame or SirThank you very much for your visit at our restaurant and your kind review. We appreciate your remarks regarding the athmosphere, service and food, as we always try to improve. We are looking forward to welcoming you back soon.Kind regards, Gian Reto Camenisch, Restaurantleiter

We visited the restaurant for valentines with my girlfriend and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel Schweizerhof right in the heart of the city, in Bahnhofplatz. This means that you wonât simply walk by, see it and go in..but that is what I call: â..the best thing is sometimes hidden right in front of you I plain sight..â and ideal for special occasions! From the moment we arrived every member of the staff was super friendly, polite and just made every effort to make sure we had a great time! Especially Simon (our waiter) who was just perfect in every aspect and in every little detail! My girlfriend, being chef de service in another restaurant herself, notices everything when it comes to service and she was just amazed! Later she told me she felt she was treated like a princess which is exactly what any man wants to hear! The food/drinks were also great! Probably the best Hugo weâve had as a starter drink, then she had a soup and I had fish for starters which were both good. For main course we both had risottos ; one safran with Lamb and one truffle with veal schnitzel. Both main courses were excellent! The meat was cooked perfectly and the risotto was perfect as well! All paired with two glasses of great red wine. Great choices of dessert as well and they even went off catalog for me and prepared a mouse chocolate!Price wise everything was also as expected, given the quality of food and service. Definitely a pricey restaurant - $$$$ - but also definitely worth it for special occasions.I would highly recommend for couples and for special occasions!

The cabbie couldn't really find the place because it was not what he was really looking for, I believe. And my wife and I felt more or less the same way. But there it was; not very impressive on the outside, and the inside was only slightly better. But the service was marvelous and the food was superb. The wine list was pretty good, too, BUT -- like everything else in this wonderful old city -- EXPENSIVE. I'd still recommend it highly.Dear GuestWe are pleased to hear that we were able to convince you of our product and services despite initial difficulties.Thank you very much for your recommandation and for the dedicated time to write this feedback. We would be happy to welcome and spoil you again in the nearer future. In the meantime we wish you all the best.Best regardsAnita Ladner, Restaurationsleiterin

Fine dining, aroma cuisine, multi-award winning: so far, so Ecco. Executive Chef Stefan Heilemann and his team have turned Ecco Zürich into one of the finest gourmet restaurants in Zurich. But the menu isnât the only marvel here, the location and service
This restaurant is a bit far from the Old Town Zurich and you have to take a taxi there. Itâs modernly and airy decorated. There were limited dishes to formulate a 3 or 5 or 8 tasting menu of your choice. All the dishes we chose were outstandingly delicious with a big wine list to choose from. The service was very good. It was probably the best choice of this trip.

The food was good, the reservation was smooth, but in general we were very underwhelmed and are puzzled by the fantastically high rating on tripadvisor, which is why we wanted to share a review. This is a restaurant that we would have found by the dozens in London or Singapore where we used to live. The food was fresh and it was very tasty, but the menu was very limited and we could actually not find anything we liked (Vitello Tonnato as the only meat option when there are at least 2 overpriced ravioli dishes, for example; and for fish only the raw tartar...all of this is way too taste-specific and there was non dish that would suit a more general palate. The menu changes every month, and it had changed on that particular day with the menu not available on the website...we actually saw other parties sit down and ask about items on the menu and leave again, but we decided to stay). Desert was also overpriced and not that great. We had a table outside, which was on the sidewalk with many people walking by very close to us (and given it is adjacent to Langstrasse, these people were sometimes not very pleasant or asking us for money). In general, this is a very expensive option for a night out, food is good, but we were looking for an anniversary dinner/special experience, which is clearly was not.Dear chooun14Thank you so much for your review. We apologize for the inconvenience regarding not timely updating of our menu on our webpage. Unfortunately there was a technical error with our server. However itâs true that our menu is limited, but it changes completely every month and this is how our concept works. We serve seasonal dishes and for August we offer a light but a thoughtful menu. Additionally itâs important to tell you, that we work with vegetables and fruits from our own garden. In conclusion we want to mention, that in this district of the city different people roam around and we unfortunately donât have any influence on it.Thank you so much for coming and we hope that you visit us again, maybe in the winter months with dishes that you may prefer more.Kind RegardsJohnny
