Great food, a very good choice on the menu (or you could order one of the many set menues). Fresh and well prepared. Other than in the other restaurants we looked at the menu offers not only the usual main dishes, but very interesting and well prepared accompaniments and side dishes. The only draw-back is the questionable quality of the open wine. We would recommend beer as a drink...

Tucked away in tiny Trassenheide on the German island of Usedom is a real gem of a restaurant housed in the local Akzent Hotel. At the tail end of the tourist season during Wildwoche, all the stops were pulled out in the delectable preparation of wild game. My choice, the Rothirschkalbbraten (roasted baby red deer) was out of this world: butter tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The accompanying sauce worked perfectly to bring out the delicate flavor of the meat which was in no way gamey. Accompanying my dish were perfectly prepared croquettes and red cabbage seasoned better than any Iâve ever tasted. On our first two visits, we ordered off the Wild specialty menu and sat there in a state of dining bliss, congratulating each other on the great restaurant find we'd made. We wagered that the restaurant's offerings on the regular menu would be just as delectable. To test that, on our last visit we ordered from the fresh seafood menu and made all the same "I can't believe this!" little yummy groans that delighted diners world over seem to unconsciously utter. We felt comfortable immediately in an atmosphere that was quiet, serene and soothing. It's one of the places where you'd feel comfortable in jeans as well as a suit. The décor is unobtrusive with walls of windows and the lighting is soft. Service was polite and professional. The restaurant, restrooms and what we could see of the hotel foyer and breakfast room, etc. were spotlessly clean. Our dinners ranged from about 11 to 23 Euros, a marked savings over what comparable meals in a similar restaurant would cost us four hours to the west. Parking is free for guests, but youâll need a token from the server to exit as the lot is gated.
