For Non-Swiss Tourists the Restaurant Fahri in Gersau is a culinary delight for Fish Lovers in particular , that would too often be passed by because of its relatively unimposing exterior facade and its location beside the Beckenried-Gersau Car Ferry Terminal. But venture inside and the atmosphere is not ostentatious or overdone - but homely and very neat and clean. the Terrace area is very spacious & inviting and offers wonderful views over the Lake of Luzern and is a great place to relax and eat in Summer. The Menu is very expansive and offers a great variety of regional dishes. But for us the "Jewel in their Crown" is their selection of fish dishes offered in Regional styles and prepared with superb skill. We just cannot speak highly enough of the quality of food dishes on offer.The Service Staff are similarly just wonderful. The Girls/Ladies speak excellent English and are very attentive to guests , and for the quality of the food and service offered the price range on the food and drink is just excellent value.We visited twice during July and September for the 1st time , but from now on we intend to be regular Guests. It is a wonderful Restaurant to visit for either Lunch or Dinner.

We've eaten here several times before and this year we went back twice. The food is consistently good. The location and setting are beautiful, sitting outside, even on a hot evening, was cool and pleasant, overlooking the lake below.Be sure to reserve, especially on weekends. The staff are friendly and professional and the dishes are excellent. One criticism: even on a bill of over 300 Swiss francs - about $315 (US) - they added 3 francs for water: ordinary TAP water(!) without even a cube of ice. (Yes, we ordered a bottle of wine too.)Aren't they ashamed of that pettiness?

Ate here twice on the summer terrace they have by the lake (July to August). You need to book because it is very popular and rightly so. Brilliant management turns the tables around quickly and although you are by the road all focus is on the lake and food. There are lovely pollarded trees providing shelter from a very hot sun. Locals mix easily with tourists as the lake ferries glide close by.The food is widely varied and 4* meaning very good. This is not refined dining but you are paying reasonable prices for both food and drink hence the popularity. Everything comes from the kitchen of the hotel across the road apart from barbecued items of which there are many. Good lamb chops first time. The team are terrific and you do not notice the travel time.Go and enjoy, but do book or be good at charming the very efficient lady who keeps the whole place in such good order.

Decent food and a good though small selection of wines. Pleasant service. Rather high prices, but pretty "normal" for Switzerland, and not as high as some other restaurants in town. Recommended for lunch on a warm sunny day, sitting on the terrace overlooking the Lake of Four Cantons.

A very positive experience. Lovely terrace but our one cool evening by the lake. Discrete blankets for ladies no problem. Apart from a family where the parents seemed not to know how to ask/tell their children not shout it was lovely. They left after 25 minutes and a nice amuse bouche.Great perch from the lake, the best I had. Excellent choices of wines quite a few by the glass. Very professional service that asked when we wanted next courses to arrive.You will enjoy this place. Classy food, good staff and the lakeside - a powerful combination!

Whilst some restaurants in Europe can be a little conservative and stodgy, we were really impressed with this one. Fine dining but in a really modern setting with fabulour view over the lake. The waiters were friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The menu had a good range and the food was exciting and well plated on delivery - indeed the presentation of a number of items was exciting when it arrived. All the little things from tablecloths, glassware, crockery smacked of a sharply run venue - more than just a 'hotel restaurant'. The prices were not cheap but not unreasonable compared to other restaurants in the Lucerne region. We had a group of six and were well taken care of. The place was almost full on a Wednesday night, ranging from romantic couples to fours and sixes. If you want good food, excellent service in a modern setting, you would not go wrong here.

The wonderful hosts Gabrielle and Daniel had created a great evening for our global company dinner. Food and wine were so delicious and the atmosphere was warm and familiar. We enjoyed in the past several times the great brunch at the Parkhotel Vitznau ânice location, great food, however are disappointed to see how poorly the restaurant is organized in terms of bookings and reservations.I booked almost 10 days ago a table for two for todays Sunday brunch, when we arrived at 11.25am and wanted to join the restaurant we were asked at the reception to wait, then asked if we fancy a glass of champagne at the reception lounge, nice offer but we actually wanted to sit down quietly at our table. We then were bluntly told the restaurant is fully booked and we have to wait, we insisted that we had a reservation and asked when a table was available. Unfortunately, the reception girl had no idea, went away to get information and we have not seen her again as after a few minutes we understandably did not want to hang around at the reception but just left.This is not the reservation management we expect â if for whatever reason an overbooking happens, we expect the restaurant to call us and inform us before we get to the place.
