We had a good evening meal here last Friday with friends. We were holidaying in an apartment a couple of hundred metres away so it was great to be able to walk along the riverside to this restaurant. The restaurant was busy but we managed to get a table on the balcony outside. We had arrived quite late (8:45pm) but got served with drinks and the menu quickly. The 4 of us chose different things but all were very tasty and nicely set out with ample portion sizes. The waiter offered more chips and sides when he came to check all was ok a little while after bringing our food. We took him up on this and soon had them brought to the table. My steak and peppercorn sauce was cooked exactly as I had requested and was very tender. All of us were happy with our meals. The two waiters we had were very pleasant and despite us not speaking any German they got our order spot on and kept the beer and other drinks coming. We met a lovely family from Sweden on the next table who we spent some time chatting with later over a beer and this added to our evening experience. We thought our meals and drinks were very good value and for location, ambience, food and service we give it full marks. We will certainly visit again next time we stay at Assmannshaussen.

Called here for lunch after noticing beautifully presented food being brought out to tables outside. We decided to eat a light lunch after a busy morning and chose pizza and homemade soups. The waiter was great and could speak good English which was a bonus as none of our party of 4 has more than a few words of German. The pizzas were huge and we definitely could have shared between two! The homemade tomato soup and the homemade mushroom soup was delicious and served with a small piece of toasted farmhouse bread. Coffee was good too. Will certainly return next time we are in the area. Prices were amazingly low for this town. Take a trip to the toilets .....you will walk through many beautiful rooms and passageways.

We were a party of three. I ordered the vegetarian menu. I thought itâs a good restaurant, they would know how to cook anything. Unfortunately, the vegetables had no remaining texture. All cooked way beyond done, you could say mushy. All three courses were disappointing. My husband ate another menu. The food was both adequate and ok, but very much overpriced. My brother was the only person who was pleased with his main course at least, the trout. Also, where we sat on the terrace the floor was sticky where someone had spilt a large amount of wine. All in all, unfortunately one big disappointment. The waitress was nice until I told her about the vegetables. No apology, no gesture to try and fix it. There are so many other places in Bacharach that are not as expensive and offer wonderful food.

I used to LOVE this place, the food was always great, and the atmosphere even greater. Unfortunately things have changed under new Management. While most of the decorations remained, the menu has changed drastically, and the Service was not what it used to be. Ordered a Schnitzel with pan fried potatoes and a salad. The only thing that tasted good was the meat. I must say I was a bit disappointed and probably will not return.

Great venue, walked off the Titan river cruise boat and straight into this lovely quaint restaurant. The staff were suitably dressed in Santa outfits and very pleasant with it as well. We were made very comfortable and the food was excellent and at a reasonable price for this time of the year. The Rüdesheim Kaffie is a must, trust me. Well done and Merry Christmas

Loved this place in small Bingen. Located on the river. Excellent food and great desert. Our waiter was great answering questions about the region.

My wife and I decided not to take the organized tour of the town offered by our river cruise company, so we took a short walk to this great restaurant I'd found on TA before our trip in mid-June. We were NOT disappointed. The schnitzel we ordered for dinner was far better that the same that was served on our cruise, was a larger serving, and came with fries and a nice salad- oh, the price was about $13 US. The staff was very professional as well as friendly. Our outside table near the alley was perfect for a relaxing evening in Rudesheim am Rhein- minus the tour groups. We noted at least six nearby tables resereved for dinner later on a Sunday night, so this place has a very good reputation. Our thanks to the nice people at Ratsstube who made our visit to their town so special. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We've been here before, and were pleased to sit outside watching the barges and day trip boats go past. The same friendly waitress as last year was there. Reasonable drinks prices.

Had not expected to find such a high level restaurant in that small village. Nice atmosphere, very attentive service. Rinderkraftbruehe was excllent, the Roulade was a bit salty. Overall high end food and highly to be recommended

Ei
Having just arrived to Frankfurt airport and traveling west, our group of four let Samantha, our GPS personality, choose where we to stop for lunch. She could not have made a better selection. Since it was late for lunch and too early for dinner we dined from a limited carte. But everything was delicious! Hot krensuppe with a mysterious spiced oil followed by our first sampling of Veiner Schnitzel, yum. With our thirst quenched by a local Riesling the meal was complete.
