We were invited by our Austrian friends to this beautiful restaurant to have our last meal in 2016. Their choice couldn't have been any better. The food was simply excellent, the dessert out of this world and the service is outstanding. The waitresses were dressed beautifully in traditional Austrian dresses which added to the quality of everything around us. The only thing I can comment on is the evening lacked background music. It was a bit surprising especially in New Year's Eve that no music was playing in the restaurant.

Dear fellow skiers, if you visit Turrache Höche for a ski trip, this is the absolute best Hütte on the slopes! Friendly, efficient, and of course delicious! The absolutely very best kaiserschmarrn in the whole big world! We will be back! :-) Thank you Zoltán!

Great location, good food and drinks. In front of restaurant is Kornockbahn ski lift. One of the few bars where in the evening in Turracher Hoche is music and where is good atmosphere at the evening. Nice interior.

International food in a very good location with a terrace in front of Velden Casino. The food is good including nice variety of appetizers. Staff very friendly. Good wine list.

Final meal with a group of Viennese friends holidaying on Lake Ossiach. Lovely outdoor eating, faultless attentive waiters, beautifully presented, rich and satisfying dishes. I had fish with roasted tomatoes, the boys had the most classy generous portion of schnitzel and chips I've ever seen, the white wine I had to accompany my main was actually delicious, the whole setting was elegant and it was overall an extremely pleasant experience. Rounded off the evening by wandering to the little graveyard in the music academy then down the street to play crazy golf.

This restaurant is in a typical Austrian house with beer garden. A short drive behind Portschach. The food is an excellent example of local tastings. We visited it a few times during our stay in the area. It has grown and expanded in the last four years, at times not for the better. It can get very busy and the staff can be pushed to the limit. However they do a fabulous job under busy times and the food is worth it.

Iâm really disappointed and sorry for this bad feedback because Iâve experienced a huge gap between the first evening and the following one!Evening 1: I was with my husband and the restaurant welcomed us very well. We had a super tender goulash with Knodel and a delicious chocolate dessert called Wohr in Hemd with vanilla icecream on its top. The service was very kind and the mood very relaxed.Happy for this experience we invited also our friends to join the evening after...Evening 2: 3 couples of friends, treated like stupid tourists as I was to only one to speak German. A friend of mine is vegetarian and I asked twice to have veggie Spatzle. When they arrived I asked again: âAre they veggie or only without ham?â. The waiter answered rude: âIf you ordered them without ham they are without hamâ. My question was different...I had the same dish of the evening before and the goulash was hard and burned instead of the tender filet I had enjoyed! Also the chocolate dessert was different and placed differently in the plate! Both waiter and waitress were quite rude all The evening and every time they left a plate full of cutlery for self service... Finally I asked the bill and the waitress shouted â116 euroâ without bringing us the bill...No words. This was the proof of the power of people: same nice location, same menu, 2 completed different experiences. Not recommended! Especially if you donât speak German, as they donât even have a Menu in English!

We have been now several times to this restaurant when we were in the area of lake Ossiach. It was always great, they serve delicious local food in excellent quality for a good value. The people are very friendly, too. Last but not least the view over lake Ossiach is just amazing. We will definitively eat there again.

When we passed through the village of Gnesau by car, the attractive façade of this large restaurant at the main road inspired us to have lunch here. Only about one third of its large car park was occupied. As expected, the inside was of the same rustic style as the outside, because almost all restaurants look like that in this region. At any rate, everything was in a pretty good condition and the interior looked quite nicely.A waitress told us to which dining room to go. Just two tables were occupied there and we could decide on our own at which empty table to take a seat. Then our waiting began. Only after several minutes, the waitress came to this room, laid the bare wooden table with placemats and took our drinks order. Quite a while later she brought us the drinks but still no menus. After another few minutes of waiting, she provided the menus. The most striking feature of the menu was the fact that it was trilingual, i.e. written in German, English and Italian. Thus, at first sight it seemed more comprehensive than they actually was. In fact, it was made up of some of the classics of the regional and Austrian cuisines, which are available in almost every restaurant around, but did not contain anything creative or extraordinary. Most pages of the menu were printed on ordinary pieces of paper, which were crumpled as if they had already been in use for a long time and therefore looked disgusting. While the waiting time for the soup was acceptable, that for a main course of filled pasta, although it definitely did not need to be freshly made but only to be heated, was overly long. While the taste of the soup was all right, the dough of the pasta was much too thick and the filling contained an excessive amount of herbs. Furthermore, we did not appreciate that in the midst of summer, when fresh vegetables are plentiful, part of the mixed salad consisted of canned bean salad.Portions were huge and the price level was the same as in similar restaurants of better cuisine in the area. After we had finished our meal, it took quite a long time until somebody from the staff showed up, whom we could indicate that we wanted to pay. It almost goes without saying that from that time on, we had to wait again for more than five minutes to receive the bill. When we left âKirchenwirtâ, we saw that a few tables in the other dining rooms were occupied as well. However, the restaurant was far from full. Thus, we did not understand why the service had been so slow.
