Friendly and quick service, our drinks order was taken almost straight away and we were also brought complimentary breads and dip with our drinks. We tried the pork escalope with mushrooms, bacon onions and fried potatoes (Schweineschnitzel Brasserie) - proper comfort food and also the chicken crepe (Kräutercrêpe).

Had it not been for our guide (see Explore Berlin Tours), we would have never found this lovely neighborhood gem. But we are so glad we did. The menu was classic German, lunch delicious, Pilsner cold and satisfying and the setting gorgeous and scenic. It was truly one of the highlights of our visit to Potsdam. Friendly service and lots of locals make you glad for the visit.Dear brandarchitect, The "Kades" say thanks. We loved to hospitality our guests. Popped in here during a business trip to Potsdam for an early(ish) breakfast. The food was delicious- I had a delightful quiche that came with a tasty side salad. They also had lots of different types of eggs, sausages, cheese breakfasts, etc. on the menu to choose from. The owner was very friendly and was very kind to translate the menu for me to English. Looking forward to coming back!

The Kavalierhaus in Caputh was recommended by a friend and so I went there for a Sunday brunch with another friend. The hotel / restaurant is right next by the lake, adjoining the park and the castle. The brunch buffet was very creative and tasty. The food per person was 18 Euros, drinks were extra. The brunch buffet opens at 11 am and closes at 3 pm.All in all a very nice experience.

At first glance, we didn't think we would be able to eat here without a reservation. Tables completely full or with reservation cards on top were all we could see. The hostess, however, let us know you could order the same things from a stand and eat on the nearby pier, complete with wooden tables on the water. We stood in line for about ten minutes, and ordered our food. Hint: get the fish nuggets. They were beer battered and amazing when coupled with this place's homemade remoulade or honey mustard. I also loved the fried catfish (Wels). It was so fresh and hot that I burned myself many times while trying to eat it because I was impatient and couldn't wait. My husband had fried salmon, and enjoyed it, too, although I'm pretty sure the catfish was better. From a stand across from where you order food, we got beer and wine and took everything down to the dock. We got a perfect corner table and enjoyed the view of the water. Highly recommended!

Staying at the hotel Bayrisches Haus, we wanted to test this restaurant located in the old house next to the hotel. First the atmosphere is very nice, then the service very good. The meals are really excellent. We have the choice between two menus and can choose between 3 and 6 courses. It is obviously not cheap but the price is fair compared to the service, the atmosphere and the food. If you are in Potsdam, do not miss it.

Had a family dinner with friends. Ordered salads, focaccia, salmon, scampi, spaghetti Bolognese and pork medallions. To say that every dish was a cookie cutter version of what it should be is to give too much credit to the chef. The salads were not particularly fresh and bland. The Bolognese, over cooked and the sauce a tasteless mess. The salmon was from a frozen piece of fish with the vegetables over cooked and mushy. The pork medallions were smothered in a a tasteless Gorgonzola sauce. The scampi was absolutely drenched in a thick tomato paste/sauce that was anything but fresh or homemade. The only semi-redeeming dish was the focaccia covered in fresh diced tomatoes and onions. This food has little taste and the chef definitely does not have an Italian soul. The staff, ho ever, was friendly and nice, a shame that they have to serve such poor and rudimentary food. A shame. Will never come here again.

We were on our way to Potsdam when our GPS led us to the ferry crossing. Right there is the Faerhaus Caputh. We decided to stop for dinner and had a wonderful meal. Service was good, view to die for, english Menu, and very reasonable. Dinner for 2 about $65. We even came back 2 days later too. Dont' hesitate to go.

We had a very nice German meal on the water. The atmosphere was excellent and the wait staff was very good as well as the food. Highly recommended right there on the water!
