Schröders Eck is a deliciuos traditional restaurant in the middle of Nationalpark Eifel, very close to the little gem Monschau. The owners, husband and wife, are very kind and disposable. The wife has french origins and she's gonna be pleased to talk her language with you!Her husband, the cook, has dutch origins and he's very talented, recipes are original and extremely well cooked!!The place is peaceful and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We ate there in august twice (the first day at lunch, then two days later at dinner) and we taste several dishes. You can eat meat or fish, i reccomend the zander and the deer! They have also a choice of tasty salads, and you got to taste the potato soup absolutely!!!Ask for Kapuziner beer, they have a very good one!Ingredients are all of very good quality and prices are restrained! The second time we ate there they litterally flooded the table with delicious food and we pay less than 35 euro at person!Don't miss it if you go over there!

Set up a hillside overlooking the Rhur. Food was home cooked and delicious. The lady waitress was so helpful and efficient. We will definitely return again with friends.

A very nice bar/restaurant. Informal atmosphere and friendly staff. Had steak with lovely mushroom and onion topping, Wiener schnitzel ( pork) and ham asparagus and potatoes. All meals really good and good value for money. Advise to book in advance as was busy and not so big. To be recommended

The location is great. They have typical German food and their special menu is pancake. Well, you can taste that their food feels like a really home-cooked meal without monosodium glutamate, which is nice. It is served with a large generous portion. Unfortunately, the food is quite bland. For the pancake, it is just so big and again the taste is very bland. For the price range, it is quite reasonably cheap. The service here is quite interesting because it is both good and bad. Their young staffs are generally nice and friendly. On the other hand, an older staff (perhaps the owner?) needs a bit more service mind towards her customers. All in all, not quite impressive with the food but it is just located in a nice place for enjoying the nature.

We were staying in timeshare accommodation around the corner, and another guest there recommended coming here for a meal - we ate here twice in our week.Haus Salzberg is a house in the middle of a newish housing estate on the outskirts of Gemund - and does not initially look like a hotel/restaurant. The weather was good for one of our visits; eating on the terrace overlooking the garden was most enjoyable. The fare is mostly seasonal German cooking; the set menus were good value - and we were impressed at the bowl of fresh strawberries produced after asking (in mutually weak German & English) for a sugar-free dessert.Well done to the ladies of Haus Salzberg.

While staying for a few days in Gemund we used this place most evenings for a drink, and happily sat at the bar enjoying good beer and friendly service. And I deliberately mention this here because many restaurants donât particularly cater for the casual drinker, and itâs nice to come across a place like this that feels like a restaurant and a bar.We also had a meal here and it was what I would call pub grub - and I mean that as a compliment. The menu is simple, the portions are generous, and the prices most reasonable. We tried a schnitzel which was good, but as is the norm round here it was absolutely smothered in a sauce, which kind of defeats the object of making a crispy coated piece of meat! It would be far better to serve the sauce on the side. Might be worth asking - if my German can stretch that far!Bottom line - whether for food, or just a beer or two, Dahmen is a good place to visit.

Every review about the Brauhaus is about the food, which is fair enough as they do serve good food. This also shows that, although this is a âbrauhausâ it is a restaurant more than a bar, which seems a bit strange. Depending on how busy they are you can generally get just a beer at one of the outside tables, but I felt that the interior really is designed for eating, and doesnât encourage the casual drinker, which is a shame, as I would have thought that a prime aim of a brauhaus would be to encourage people to drink their beer!

The exterior as well as the interior of this restaurant is kitschy to the bone with breathtakingly ugly stuff as decoration. Germans seem to like it, but I am sure that the rest of the world does not.Anyway, the food was a lot better. The trout was fresh, and although drenched in butter, it tasted good. The prices were more than reasonable: we paid 30 Euro including two cups of tea.

Located in a former castle/palace built in the 12th century. Stopped by during an afternoon guided walk and had a late afternoon coffee. Whilst we don't speak German and the staff do not speak English, we were able to order and had a lovely afternoon coffee break. Looked a very interesting restaurant and would like to return to further enjoy the full restaurant deal.
