We always make a pilgrimage here because our forefathers owned this inn for over 200 years. Unfortunately, it was not kept well, so it passed to another family about a decade ago. We met the new owners and were very impressed with what they have done and their plans for the future. And they have a totally new building for overnight guests. We did not stay there this time, but I would love to next time.

We stopped here overnight with a camper and had dinner. The service was initially super and the food okay, but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately once we were done with the main course the service disappeared and we had no chance of ordering dessert, more drinks or coffee. It was 3/4 of an hour before closing but the staff was suddenly more interested in cleaning up and having a few drinks themselves.

Book ahead for a Friday or weekday lunch or dinner. Itâs popular but for good reason. Food and service are excellent. View is even better. We earned a good lunch after a long walk around the fields. Canât wait to go back in summer when the beer garden is happening

This former antiques show room was changed some years ago to a restaurant and is tastefully and comfortably furnished and appointed. A very pleasant atmosphere but quite a large area and so for me, lacking in 'Gemütlichkeit' or intimacy which for most people may be irrelevant. The welcome is very warm and efficiently handled. There is a table d'hote menu together with the limited a la Carte menu. This limited menu is quite a good idea, allowing the kitchen to concentrate on doing a few dishes, but doing them well. We were a party of six and all were satisfied with quality and quantity of the meals. The one small complaint was that the House wine that was served had been sitting too long in an open bottle and so tasted oxidised. It was mentioned to a staff member but no response was forthcoming other than a rather negative frown.Finally, in my view, this is not a restaurant suitable for small children.

The picturesque little town of Michelstadt in the Odenwald is remarkably well provided with restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars. We liked the look of the Rathausbraeu. In keeping with the rest of the town it looked like a traditional German pub-restaurant. We sat down at one of the tables outside and were not disappointed. We had an excellent lunch there. The food is traditional German:we had a pork steak and a venison goulash and beer to drink. It was good value and service was good too. We would be happy to go back on a future visit.

We are spoiled in eating. For most guests it will be excellent. The service is correct and attentive. The gameweeks in october and november a worth to come for.Allthough you can diner at noon. You get more after 1700 hour. A greet from the kitchen, cloth napkins and candlelight.The price-quality ratio is very good.Their fresh smoked trout (really fresh so you must wait 25 minutes).The marronsoup with hare'knoedel'the raspberry gingerparfait and so on.

Near the restaurant you can look at the ruins of an old castle!That is worth a look at! The restaurant is quite nice! You can sit outside and have a nice view or sit inside which is a more historic place! I prefer the terrasse! The food is good, you have a good choice! It tastes good too and is really cheap! Kartoffelpuffer(shredded potatoes) with salmon for only 4 euros!!!!!! Really worth a visit!
