Things to do in Podcetrtek
This restaurant came as a recommendation from the local. And it was such a pleasant surprise. First the decoration of the place is really nice with lovely greenery and a small fountain inside. The whole place has a lovely homey local feeling about it and was not crowded. We were a party of four and meat eaters. We had two "Zagrebacki odrezak" (which is fried pork fillet filled with cheese and ham), fried chicken fillet filled with cheese and ham and I had "Veseli zagorec" (which is a fried baby beef fillet filled with cheese and ham). The portions were extremely large (measuring by any restaurant we have been to and eaten these dishes) so we had to ask the waitress to pack the rest for later. I cannot describe the tenderness of the meat which just melted in your mouth. Also, included in the dish, you get fries or rice with vegetables (in croatian ÄuveÄ). We wanted to thank the chef for absolutely fabulous meal, and she is also the owner (along with her husband who also works there) and found out they are wonderful and extremely kind people. So we asked about the tenderness of the meat as It couldnt be all attributed to the way of preparing and were told that they only obtain local meat so that it is always fresh. We also tried the pancakes with cherries (got a recommendation from the chef/owner) and these are probably the best pancakes I have ever eaten (and this is really not exaggeration as I have eaten pancakes on numerous occasions even in their homeland - France). They are filled with fresh cherries and their juice which have been flambéed probably in cherry brandy or some other liqueur. After eating half of the second pancake I remembered to take a picture to preserve this moment and the place (shame on me for not taking a picture of the meat we ate so you could have a glimpse of what Im talking about). Was surprised no ratings about this place. But I assume the locals know where to eat good food...This is a reward that you get for making a small trip away from big city full of pretentious and expensive restaurants. Highly recommended and not to be missed when you visit Veliki Tabor (as we did and were just thrilled about the castle). And do not forget to try the pancakes!

The waiter was extremly kind, the menu is large enough so everyone can find something they like and the food was great! Overall experience was awesome.
We offer our guests bed, breakfast and dinner, and lunch is available by appointment. We live in harmony with nature and we would like to share this story with you! Welcome home! The restaurant also offers à la carte dishes for outside guests - by appoint
Very difficult to find , too few tags, a sufficiently large parking . Excellent food, healthy, rooms big enough, necessary to regulate further details for guests Maybe more additional features for the visitors. Maybe some spa, sauna or games room. I recommend desserts

We had lunch with our 16 member travel group. âBeefâ soup with homemade noodles looked more like chicken broth and had no visible meat and could have been hotter, but it was flavorful. Simple salad nicely dressed. Roast turkey came with homemade wide, flat pasta noodles were very tasty and not too fatty (much better than the same had in a recommended restaurant in Zagreb). Apple strudel for dessert was warm and slightly crisp. Some of the best weâve had on the trip. As we were leaving, I saw a serving bowl of what looked like very tempting beef stew or meatballs. Location is interesting, up a steep hill/driveway which we walked since it could not accommodate a large bus, although probably private cars can manage. It was a bit chilly, but in warmer weather, it appears there is inviting seating outside. Worth consideration.

Sunday or holiday is a peak season for each restaurant. Haler between PodÄetrtek and Olimje is not an exemption. They have nice building, cut grass, nice flowers and a fountain. But first and last impression is waiter. He canât pretend to be trained and attentive when he is cleaning one table after another â but guests at another table are waiting. Empty bottles and glasses can wait. People must be first choice. We can forgive serving another table (people came later) but service without smooth order of presence is not what guests expect. So, we donât enjoy the food as much as we can and excellent beer is not washing down bad first impression.

It is furnished in rustical style of a wine cellar, decorated with original viticulture stuff and decorations from viticulture heritage, which is very rich around Virštanj. Our desire is to offer our guests a wide range of culinary delights and wine of ou
I stayed for 2 nights and my dinners an lunch were top notch. The soups in particular were delicious - one mushroom and another wild garlic. Some of the best food I have had into 3 weeks of a road trip and having travelled through France and Italy!
