"Austrian and International. Mettnitzer has been awarded with a cap and offers an excellent food combined with a great ambience in a beautiful historical house".
The food is truly high class and of exceptional taste and quality. For this kind of meal, which is quite exceptional, the prices are fairly reasonable. The setting and the interior are fascinating also. Staff is very polite but bit on a "stiff upper lip" side especially when you address them in English, which, on the other hand, they speak quite fluently. All in all an outstanding dining experience!

In a lakeside which has been a building site for years, this is a surviving remnant of old Millstatt and the old style hospitality. We found the staff welcoming and the service a little slow but generally very good. Food was excellent. The location is perfect although the terrace does get full. We ate inside with a great view and as soon as a table became free by the lakeside the staff invited us to move. We were quite happy where we were but it was a nice gesture from an attentive and hospitable management and staff.

The food was very good, but the waiters were not a good English speakers , we ask for a English menu and they say they don't have one, they didn't know to tell us nothing about the food in English, so we had to translate with Google.....After all, although they saw that, came to the table and talk with us in german. Disappointed for a touristic city.

Once again, the wonderful Schmidt family looked after us during our visit to Austria. The food is so fresh, it brings back memories of childhood and a time when vegetables came straight from the garden. The serving staff are always friendly and the food is a delight. Not sure what else we could want

Paradise Hideaway For People Who Look For No Tourism Nature Place Fresh Food Cooked By Owner And Funny Thai Woman (rose) Right On The Breathtaking Crystalclear Lake Millstatt
We had two delightful lunches at Villa Verdin. The dining room has a wonderful view across the lake in Millstatt and is warm and inviting. The service is a perfect match - friendly and helpful. And the food was delightful. The menu is clearly influenced by Italian cuisine and this provided a refreshing alternative to the often heavier Austrian fare. The wines that were recommended were excellent as is often the case in Austria. We had hoped to stay at Villa Verdin but were unable to do so. If the rooms are as good as the food it would be a wonderful base to enjoy the area.

We ate here largely by accident, but am so glad we did. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our whole Austrian holiday. The simple "ofenloch" potato dish comprised two enormous, crispy jacket potatoes, with a delicious sour cream, yogurt, herb and bacon topping which, for the price, was simply incredible value. The "Steirische" potato was a single jacket potato, served as above, but with a huge portion of steaming hot vegetables AND two very generous pork medallions which were seasoned and cooked to perfection. This restaurant simply serves delicious food at a very very fair price. The dining area had a great ambience and the owner came out from behind the grill to talk to us about our travels, our plans and to ensure we had everything we needed. It made the whole experience very enjoyable and upheld the traditions of Austrian hospitality. Highly recommended, and if we were staying longer, we would definitely make a return visit. No question! Go. You won't regret it.

We waited for 1hr for 2x pizza, staff was not helpful in general as they were busy with their cellphones. when we asked about our food the chef/owner was VERY rude and unfriendly so we left the place! We don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.. go eat at See Villa or hotel Forelle instead which have good service and friendly staff. The chef/owner of Peppino was like a hooligan at a soccer match, unwanted and rude.Google ratings showed us after our visit that similar experiences have been rated by other travelers for almost a year now and the owner/chef does not learn from them...
