We never miss an opportunity to visit this excellent restaurant and we are obviously not alone as there are always lots of tables occupiedby locals and visitors. Situated across the road from the forest railway station and about 5 minutes walk from the centre of town it is traditional in decor but the food ranges from traditional to modern. Try the salads or as I do make sure the main course you choose comes with a salad and the dressings are wondeful. The service is friendly and good to see them in the traditional "Dirndles".

Lunch in this traditional German Hotel and Restaurant was excellent. It was a beautiful summer day and we sat at the secluded garden terrace at the back of the hotel. Service was professional with a good choice of regional food and excellent wines by the glass. The Wiener Schnitzel and Pork cutlets with cheese Spätzle were very good. Very generous portions.

Perfect dinner with tasty dishes of good variety, very friendly staff, satisfactory choice of wine. This was our first visit even though we are "half local", and in my opinion the Marktstube is the best international cuisine restaurant far and wide, in terms of quality easily on par with culinary tempels of good renown. If you go for a multiple course arrangement like I did though, keep in mind that even the half portions on offer are at least twice as big as degustation meals in Michelin-starred restaurants, so go easy on the number of course or bring along a lot of hungry company. By choosing this place, you will seemingly make no mistake!

This restaurant had a distinctly Bavarian feel to it (perhaps not surprising considering the location). We enjoyed the cozy bench seating available throughout the periphery of the restaurant and the dark woodwork. Service was prompt and attentive. My husband had a meat dish in a root vegetable sauce that he found delicious. I had a meal salad with thin sliced pork that was more than I could easily finish! We appreciated the "tight" menu. They aren't trying to do too much here. Just trying to do a dozen or so Bavarian dishes well. Though not a regional specialty we also were glad that chicken nuggets were available for our two children :)

Good traditional food , lots of meat, salads but they do not have any English translations of their menu which made ordering for those of us who are fussy quite difficult. There is no reason to expect English menus in Germany but it does encourage English travellers to stop thereJust outside is a beautiful lake and children's play area and best of all it is an ideal stop on local walks and cycle paths.Well worthy visit.
