In an early 18th-century town house on the square in front of the Old Bridge in Heidelberg, the "Wirtshaus zum Nepomuk" welcomes its guests with familiar hospitality and good traditional german food. In the cosy restauarnt you will find regional specialti
Forunately they also have a salad, but courses are very German. By the way there exist a lot of nice German dishes. We had a number of the different traditional ones, duck, pork, steak +++All well prepared and tasty.Super service, even on this crowdy day.Remember to book a table!Thank you for your wonderfull review ! We are so glad that we made a perfect evening for you !

Had roast beef here and it is not what I expected. Itâs 2 slices of beef cooked in some salty gravy. The red cabbage was good. We didnât enjoy the food hence decided not to get dessert. Location was great, situated just across the Necktar River by the old bridge.

A restaurant with bite: Simple furnishings with a visual focus on colourful crocodiles that are hanging from the ceiling or crawling on the walls. Of course, they're not real! So don't be afraid. The staff are just as harmless. As fast as the reptile itse
We walked in on a Saturday night without a reservation and got the last table tucked across from a family of 20 who were almost quiet while eating. Immediate recognition that the food.must be terrific to silence these ten children and parents.....correct!I don't speak German but I picked this wonderful pork stew with schnitzel. Perfect. Our mains came with a terrific salad with a special ingredient salad dressing. I wish I knew what is in the blend...maybe dill?Lovely service from a beautiful team of young women who were Ble to navigate right spots and twirling children while carrying large beers.Highly recommend....please make a reservation so as not to be disappointed. Bring the whole family and try not to drive home because the portions are large and delicious and you will be sleepy. And dessert was good too...and I am not a dessert person. See photos. This is a winner!

Traditional fine-dining restaurant with hotel rooms located directly in the center of the old town of Heidelberg. You will find the ideal place to sit back, relax and enjoy!
I had dinner with friends on a Monday during the week before Christmas. The place was packed and almost too noisy. The food was a good interpretation of traditional German fare. Overall the place is pricey, but the quality was worth it (we paid 240 Euros for four, one dish each with drinks and a bottle of wine). What I did not like was that the servers had an attitude and were rather inefficient. For example, it took two reminders for us to finally get the wine we ordered. Really?

When people visit and want to try German food, then this is the place I take them. It's popular with both Germans and Americans alike and my family's personal favorite. It's not a fancy place by far (it's the club house for an active shooting club), but it's kid-friendly and pet-friendly as well. The staff is good-humored and they all speak English quite well. The owner, Alfred, is a butcher, so you can't go wrong trying any of his daily specials or one of his amazing types of schnitzel. The best thing is the size of their portions..big. Many people take a doggy bag home, but my family considers that an insult. Just be warned that you probably won't need dessert later. The only drawback is that it's well off of the beaten path, so you have to drive or take a taxi to find the place (or walk if you feel ambitious and want to work off some of the massive calories you will intake). The bottom line is that whether you want to go out with family, friends, or a business function - Alfred and his staff will be happy to welcome you and satisfy your hunger.

A real surprise for me was this elegant restaurant in the heart of the old city. From the entance to the dishes everything is nice. The way you are greated and the way the food is presented. Most of the dishes are very good. As for foie gras I would say there a lot to be done! Please work on it and clients will be fully satisfied. Overall the place is very good! Reservations recommended.

Schnitzelbank did not disappoint! The best German meal that we had during our trip through the country. I'm a huge foodie so I'm always looking for the best restaurant or hole-in-the-wall spots. The restaurant served some of the best popular German dishes. Everything that we ordered was cooked perfectly and delicious. Already planning to go back just to eat here!

Service was a little slow on Friday, but it was packed, so no surprise. Like most of Europe, they leave you alone for long periods to enjoy your meal. They take their last seating at 8:45pm, and it's a popular local restaurant, so plan ahead. Not much else is nearby. We had two very good meals here.

Business function, event or just good dining? Visit our best rated Restaurant, Bar, Bistro, our cosy Lounge or the outstanding Roof-Terrace in the Centre of Heidelberg. The Qube Restaurant stands for imaginative, regional as well as international cuisine,
The Qube restaurant has pretentions to be a serious restaurant but, alas, fails to deliver. The décor is contemporary and pleasant and the food is perfectly decent, but the evening service staff is not only incompetent but downright rude. I can tolerate disorganized service if the servers are pleasant, but there is no excuse for inefficiency coupled with arrogance. I was staying at the Qube Hotel with colleagues and we saw that the restaurant was half empty so it seemed easiest to dine there instead of trying to find another place in the neighborhood. When it took forever to get menus, then to have our order taken, then simply to be served wine which was sitting on the bar behind us, we offered to leave if we were not welcome. One of the servers berated us for expecting to be served promptly when we did not have a reservation! Several nights later, at a dinner there for over 40 people (for a conference), another server told someone allergic to arugula that she could "just scrape it off" her starter. We complained and received an apology in that instance, but this is type of behavior is simply unprofessional and unacceptable. I'm sure there are better and certainly more enjoyable restaurants in Heidelberg - Das Bootshaus down the street, for example, has good, unpretentious food served with a smile. Save your money and your time!
