Dropped in for lunch while looking around Berchtesgaden. Great menu. Extremely friendly staff and super fast service. The grilled liver is a must as is the Skrei (Norwegian winter cod). There is no WiFi access so you canât check out the sights of Berchtesgaden on the mobile app here. A pity, since we usually have have lunch and then plan the rest of the afternoon using the net and apps.

High in the Bavarian Mountains is this Guesthouse that serves really exceptional food, prepared by a chef who infuses a combination of herbs and spices that is unique. Rarely have I tasted such dishes and fellow guests all agreed. The friendly and attentive service was also excellent.

Johann Grill, native of the region "Ramsau", was the first to step over of the eastern side of the mountain "Watzmann". He also aimed to inspire people to hike. Known as Germany's first official mountain guide, he was also the owner of the first Watzmann
Two of us dined on a weekday night early in September after working up an appetite by walking the Carl-von-Linde-Weg. We chose the chanterelle mushroom soup and chanterelle mushroom "goulash" from the summer menu to start and then the restaurant's signature dish, roasted filet of salmon trout, and the veal filet from the summer menu as our mains. Each dish was rich in flavour and a pleasure to enjoy. As a dessert, we shared the Eckerbichltorte, a cake made of layers of pine honey buttercream, wild cranberry compote and chocolate crème surrounded by hazelnut Dacquoise. The youthful servers spoke fluent English and helped with the selection of local wines by the glass to accompany each course. Be sure to ask for a table with a view to the west when making your reservation.

wanted a real beer hall meal and this was recommended on several travel sites -- we were not disappointed! Great atmosphere, great food, excellent bratwurst, and perfect beer. Only thing to be aware of is it's at the bottom of the hill leading to town, so if you are not driving a car, plan on a good walk after your meal or plan on grabbing a taxi to get back up to the town.

I want to thank Star Chef Ulrich Heimann for the best food and wine experience I ever had .Perfection is the goal of the Star Chef Ulrich Heiman. It was one of the most elegant restaurants I have seen in the whole town and it seems like so much care and resources were put to make it look this way, outstanding. Restaurant Le Ciel is too good to be missed. Thank youDear danielazeller216,Thank you very much for your amazing feedback. On behalf of our entire team we are looking forward to welcome you back on your next trip to Berchtesgaden.Warm regards from the Bavarian Alps,Belinda HeimannPersonal Assistant to the Hotel Manager

The "Einkehr" Pizzeria is located directly in the pedestrian zone in Berchtesgaden. Why not enjoy a crispy pizza or a delicious pasta dish while appreciating the modern, Mediterranean ambiance? In the restaurant you can enjoy your espresso, cappuccino or
We had great tasting food at this restaurant. We had the burger and fries and pizza. The pizza are very large, so be prepared to share or takeaway. This restaurant has a sunny terrace and a covered terrace. The only drawback is that there are not enough wait staff, there was only one to cover off the entire terrace, so there are long wait times. But do recommend for the food and good terrace.Dear "1971_RH"Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We highly appreciate your positive criticism regarding the amount of staff. Peak season has already started and we will do everything possible to avoid long waiting times. Have a great day and thank you again for your time. Family Hettegger

One of Berchtesgaden's culinary and visual highlights - the Panorama Restaurant - is located on the sixth floor of the EDELWEISS. Here, you can enjoy the combination of haute cuisine and unique atmosphere while admiring the spectacular view of the Watzman
Se were out on the terrace on a magnificent day. Staff was very friendly (not the norm in Salzburg), they actually smiled and joked. Solid food as well. The Sausage Plate was OK. The Spinach Knoedlen were very tasty, and the beer perfect.Hi Mr. "GeorgeFMarkhamON", Thank you very much for your feedback. We are happy about the positive one, but we are not located in Salzburg - but in BERCHTESGADEN (Hotel EDELWEISS). Also the pictures you posted are not from our Restaurant. Would you please be so kind and delete your post? We would be very happy to welcome you some day in Berchtesgaden - I am sure this feedback will be as positive as this one :) Best wishes, Katharina

We had a very nice dinner in this relatively new restaurant with a traditional atmosphere. The personnel is very friendly, including the cook! Dishes are based on local ingredients and on Austrian cousine but with a modern, original touch. Highly recommended.

There is parking outside Berggasthof Oberkalberstein, don't be deterred from driving by the reviews that say the road is too difficult to negotiate; winding your way up the road slowly is quite manageable. We sat outside as the main attraction of this restaurant is the views! I chose the breaded fish and potatoes served with a tartare style sauce, which was very tasty. I thought the potatoes might be too heavy but they were just right. My co-eater had the (very hearty!) three loins of venison in gravy, with cranberries, potato dumplings and red cabbage. The service was friendly but slow (although the view was a good distraction!) We had to attract the attention of a waitress and ask for a dessert menu and then had another wait to place our dessert order and then a further wait when we wanted to settle the bill - it was getting chilly outside by this time so make sure you take a jacket!! The bill itself was very reasonable at only â¬40 for two courses and drinks for two.The view may be the restaurant's main draw, but the enormous "man vs food" sized desserts come a very close second! I had the mixed ice cream - four generous scoops of fruit, chocolate, stracciatella and vanilla - it was delicious! My co-eater had the Windbeutel (cream puff) which was the biggest dessert I've ever seen! Not far off the size of a dinner plate!! The highlight of my evening was seeing the waitress's face when she carried the Windbeutel out; her expression was a mixture of apology and sympathy! All the other diners looked round to see which poor soul was about to develop type 2 diabetes!! :-)
