Find out what Caribbean restaurants to try in Willemstad. The lively capital of Curacao is a welcoming, upbeat destination with two distinct historic districts divided by the lovely St. Anna Bay. Punda, site of neat, narrow streets, is crammed with shops and museums. Otrobanda, or "The Other Side," is a maze of twisting residential streets, contrasting with the organized grid across the bay. Willemstad's colorful colonial architecture has won it UNESCO Heritage site designations. Diving and swimming with dolphins are popular activities in the bay.

Karakter is a bit different then other beach restaurants. Itâs not a snack bar but a place with a great menu for both lunch and dinner. Friendly service and a nice environment. Off course the prices are a bit steeper then the other beach foodstalls, but for that the food is really lovely (40-50naf/main course)Apparently the best appeltaart on the island. I tried it and itâs good Hi Floris_71,Thank you for your great 5-star review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your visit and that you have so many good things to say about Karakter. Mostly, we are glad you liked our homemade apple pie, it was made with love! We look forward to serving you again soon!

Located in the historical district of Pietermaai, Kome features a chef driven menu where worldly cooking techniques lay the foundation for the creative freedom Chef David and Pastry Chef Susan live for in the kitchen. The chefs love cooking things that ma
Our dinner at Kome was delicious. We had a (huge) Ceasarâs salad and the Merguez (goat) sausages as starters and the Pork tenderloin and the pasta as a main. All equally delicious. The ambiance was lively with tables closely spaced together. Luckily our neighbors were very friendly. One point that needs to be improved is the table water. We ordered a bottle of flat and a bottle of sparkling mineral water. However, we were served refilled bottles of purified water. At 9 guilders (about $5) per bottle this is quite outrageous. Moreover, at we noticed that âtapâ water for the table next to us, came from the same faucet. The small print on the menu indeed says that Kome chooses to serve filtered water instead of mineral water. This is fine with us, but should then be more clearly stated as you usually order drinks ahead of examining the menu in great detail.Nevertheless, quality of the food comes first and there for a âvery good ratingâ anyway.Dear Dutch_Travel-R,Thank you for the great review, we're happy to hear you had a great night. To quickly reply to the table water, we indeed serve filtered water. Sometimes, when the bar is busy we decide for efficiency's sake to grab the nearest faucet. We feel a 5$ charge for water which is similar to any branded water is a fair price, however, you should not have been charged both the still and sparkling water, that one unfortunately slipped through the cracks. Next time you visit us, please let me know personally and I'll make sure to make it right.Regards,Luuk

Stayed at Santa Barbara where the food was pricy. Had to venture out for all dinners. WE found this place later in the week. Loved it so much we went 3 nights in a row. The wife had the same dinner all 3 nights, lobster. I switched it up all 3 nights and every dinner was great. Great spot on the water. Loved it hope we can return.

We are moving to the other side of the road. You'll find us at the entrance to the National Park at Cactus Cafe. Opening Hours: 10am-3pm (kitchen opens at 11 am till 2 pm) and 5pm - 10pm (kitchen closes at 9pm)
The cactus cafe (its new name) is a lovely restaurant in Cristoffel Park. The family needed to grab an early dinner so we were the only ones in the restaurant at 6pm. The service and food was excellent. They were also patient when I asked repeatedly if there were nuts in my 15yo son's meal. (Side note, yes my kid says I was being too much of a "mom", but he doesn't remember the last trip when I had to take him to an ER and it was in a foreign country).

La Bohème Curacao is an atypical bistro, run by a Chilean family with a very multicultural staff. We strive to serve everyone as if they were part of our family in a very cozy yet informal atmosphere. Being located in one of the most multicultural islands
Had a take away as a quick meal. It was too much mayonnaise in the mix. Had no choice but to consume.

Namora Restaurant; for a romantic dining experience for you and your partner, having fun with the family, or just enjoying drinks at the bar with friends. Enjoy great entertainment every wednesday on our tropical night with live entertainment by cuban exp
We had a very bad experience in this restaurant. Nowhere was mentioned they would charge an extra 10% on the total amount for service. It's normally up to the customer to decide whether he/she wants to tip for service. All the restaurants we've been to in Curacao work like this, just as they do elsewhere. Obliging people to tip your staff is absolutely NOT DONE. In this restaurant however, when we got our bill, we were obliged to pay a arbitrary tip of 10%. This was not mentioned in the menu and not communicated in advance and could thus not be charged. When taking this up with the staff, they claimed this decision was not theirs to make, but the manager's. Of course, conveniently, this person wasn't present and neither reachable by text or call. I offered to get the police or any other authority involved to solve this as the restaurant wasn't capable of offering a solution. This, obviously wasn't to their liking as they knew they were in their wrong. We ended up paying the unjustified extra amount as they didn't let us leave by paying the correct amount. Overall, I am very very disappointed in this establishment and I would recommend any fellow traveller to avoid going here to be treated this way. To be clear, the amount was not big, but just the way we've been treated is a disgrace. This is completely unlike any other experience we've had on the island and something nobody should experience on their holidays. There are many restaurants in Curacao charging 10% or even 15% . I will mention 5 Nautilus (15%), Matsuri (10%) , Shore (15%), Kyoto (10%) St Tropez (10%) these restaurants are among the best. I was informed that you found the food delicious and the service excellent. But it all turned around when you saw the check. It is sad that you could not find it in your heart to reward our employee's hard work. Instead you did a disfavor to all of them by your unsubstantiated review. It seems it is you who put your country to shame by representing them in such a cheap manner.

Eccentric and cozy specialty restaurant for drinks and local dining. Vegetarian-friendly cooking. Enjoy the sunset and unique views of the Christoffel Mountain and its National Park. Live entertainment every Sunday.
Greatest view. A pity they don't clean up the place. I was feeling great and the food was fine until I saw the way they keep their goats. No water at all in this heat and no plants to even get somehow a bit of water. And a beautiful Warawara bird in a dirty cage without a drop of water who should be right there flying around in the nature which is exactly where they are located.Hi , U can not put a private property in a review. The goats have nothing 2 do with our restaurant! The bird is in good condition like always! We give him good and water and i take time to even talk with him every day! Ur review is not based on facts. Well the only fact is that u eat good. Thanks u! For ur time to make picture about the goats. And not the good food and service.Gito

The first and only gastrobar in Curaçao. Latin/Caribbean inspired. Taste the region on your plate and in your glass with rum and tequila as the stars of the backbar.
Fantastic fusion of fresh Caribbean inspired cocktails, delicious food plates and classic chic island ambiance make Cana a special place. The menu offers an array of dishes that are larger than an appetizer but smaller than a dinner. Our table of 4 started by ordering 3 plates, served sequentially to share, first the Ceviche (local reef fish), next crispy calamari (fresh, tender with a sweet chili dip sauce) followed by Picahna a la Parrilla (Brazilian sirloin with chimichurri)...the friendly and attentive wait staff kept the plates coming and the drinks fresh. As the Picahna arrived we ordered two more plates, a calamari encore (it was so tasty!) and the Rum Ribs...OMG, we were full when the ribs arrived but the meat was delicious and fell clean from the bone!A perfect night! I believe that Cana is a âcanât missâ!

We visited Tabooshh for dinner towards the end of the trip and I only wish we visited this restaurant sooner! It is well worth the drive from Willemstad. The atmosphere is lovely and very Caribbean- I loved the decor!! The cocktails are amazing- I would highly recommend the sangria! All of the dishes sounded amazing and we found it difficult to pick only a few! The mojito shrimp were amazing of note but all the food was pretty good. There are plenty of local dishes to try. Service was excellent- attentive and quick. Thank you very much for your review. We are happy you found us just before your departure and experienced dining with us. Thank you for pointing out what you liked about your dinner and that your service was good. We love what we do and our main focus is always to keep our guests as satisfied as possible. It was lovely having you and look forward to seeing you again on a next trip.Warm regards,Debby, Martin and Team Tabooshh!
