At the eastern end of Cluny beach (and just west of "little Cluny", which we prefer), this open air restaurant gets a plus for the view, even though it fronts on the ironstone, rather than the beach itself. The service was good for the two of us, and one meal with curried chicken and the other with grilled dorado, accompanied by a small salad and sauteed vegetables, accompanied by a bottle of the house white wine, was 55 euiros plus tip. We would have given this one four stars if we hadn't taken a walk along the beach and smelled the little pools of runoff from the restaurant--or perhaps from the restrooms. There was an open pipe pouring into the ironstone that appeared to be coming from the restaurant, as if this were some third world location. We decided against a swim. But the food was very good!

We stopped for lunch on our last day in Guadeloupe and were not disappointed. This casual restaurant looks across the road to the sea with a wonderful breeze. The service was excellent. My wife and I each had a fish dish. Mine a whole fish done perfectly her's a filet with an excellent sauce. The house rosé was strange; other wines were probably excellent but rather expensive.

Chicken Colombo and poisson grille both very good. Good lunch to have before taking a 1:15 pm boat tour as you'll be out there for five hours.

Lunch for 5 persons. The fish was very good. It was not crowded. The service was fast n efficient. This place was recommended to us by a friend from Sainte Rose. Pretty satisfied overall. About £30 per person with rum n wine. The host offered us a free final round of drinks. Very kind indeed!

We were staying in Sainte-Rose and stumbled on Restaurant Clara as we walked from the town to the seashore. We were so happy to find an excellent restaurant nearby and on the water although at night we couldn't really tell. But we could hear the surf. The staff spoke enough English and we spoke enough French to get by. My husband ordered the lamb Colombo which was curried lamb with rice. I had the Dorade which was a fish like Halibut. Mine came with julienned green papaya which was absolutely amazing. I could have eaten a whole plate of just that, it was so delicious. Mine also came with a vegetable melange which was excellent and rice. The fish was topped with a seaweed salad, not much, but just enough. Our waitress was very nice, but Clara stole the show! She visited each table and was very welcoming. Can't wait to go back! The food was excellent and the staff were so welcoming. A great place!

We went there yesterday. We speak French and that has to be mentioned but we had a great time there. I mentioned to the owner that this place looked maybe more like a museum than a restaurant. It has hundreds of artefacts from other times and the owner will be delighted to see your curiosity. The food was great and prepared extremely carefully using ancient recipes. I had a Colombo of Pork and my wife had a braised chicken that was prepared with sugar cane. Absolutely fantastic, and the side dishes were amazing too. After the meal we discussed a little more with the owner and my wife was interested by a picture in the main hall. The owner noticed it offered us a replica of this beautiful drawing of the 18th century. We were just mind blown... What is amazing with people from Guadeloupe is that as soon as you show curiosity and interest in their culture, they open their heart and it is sometimes unexpected.Would love to come back and learn more about the history of this place...

We had a very nice lunch,The fish was fresh and well prepared. The French fries were freshly sliced and baked( not freezer).The meat from my husband was tender en well cooked.The waiter and owner of the place was very friendly and helpfull.The kitchen is simple, but good for a good well prepared holiday meal.

We selected the 2 course meal option for 25 euros and couldn't believe the portions, not to mention the delicious quality of the dinner. We had an octopus appetizer with puff pastry, and a foie gras appetizer. The lamb shank and fish main courses were served with various sides and also good. We didn't have room for dessert but they were very tempting. With a bottle of wine and water our bill was less than 100 euros.

Everyone (especially Jacqueline!) made us feel right at home in this large, welcoming restaurant and bar. The food is prepared with love and skill, the portions are huge and the drinks are generous as well. Very authentic cuisine and experience overall. You should not miss this place if you're in the area. It's a nightclub on the weekends as well, but we were there during the week.
