Things to do in Las Galeras
Beautiful location on a terrace in front of the amazing Rincon beach. The restaurant serves very typical food (even if the food selection is quite reduced). The staff is friendly but the service is very slow. Finally, tables, cutlery (and in general the whole restaurant) is not very clean.
This "tipico" Dominican restaurant is an exceptional family restaurant, and it's the best example in Las Galeras. The food is mostly simple Dominican fare, well-prepared, reasonably priced, and served with a mixture of love and brio that keeps the regulars coming back. The "Restaurante Las Galeras" is a pleasant 10 minute stroll up the paved road from the beach, passing nearly all that LG has to offer commercially.Grilled fish is generally on the menu unless the sea is rough, and if the "Capitan al Coco" is available it should not be missed. Pito does wonderful things with Pork and with Yucca and Yecenia is a "maestra" of labor-intensive tostones, the Dominican equivalent of French Fries, made from plantain. The chicken, fried and otherwise, tastes the way that chicken should taste, but generally doesn't. It will please your kids, or the kid in you.I think that Pito and Yecenia are generally not open for dinner--but they will usually do so by previous arrangement. Here you will feel welcome, you will be well-fed, and you will not be not fleeced. Tell 'em "Memo" sent you.

LA PLAYITA Beach Bar & Restaurant is located directly on the white sand beach of La Playita in Las Galeras. Serving fresh seafood, catch of the day, grilled chicken, salads and a full bar service.
Excellent restaurant right on the stunning La Playita beach. Sit down and enjoy some lovely fish while looking out on the cystal clear waters. The staff are so friendly here and the food is delicious. We had some local fish (I forget the name) and it was cooked on the bbq and the taste was something to savour and will be long remembered. The service is a little slow but the food is worth the wait. If you are on La Playita beach make sure and eat here.
At the 9 you can spend really good time with friends open every night. We had great time here on Tuesday special happy hour and free dance lessons of bachata, merengue and salsa. The place is very nice and there is always a dj playing different kind of music. Lovely mojitos and Cuba libre. The staff is very nice too a special thank to Laura for her kindness working always with a wonderful smile
A very reasonable place to eat, small, local style, very friendly staff. Good chicken with creole rice, decent chips. An off-charge starter was a very nice surprise. Remember to confirm the prices when ordering as the menu has a couple of small mistakes. The place is located quite remotely, about 2,5km from Las Galeras, so it is best to go there if you are staying in one of the guest houses nearby.Additional attraction: watch for cats, if you see them nearby you can expect them to be water gunned away by the owner :).
What to do and see in Las Galeras, Dominican Republic: The Best Places and Tips
Our typical restaurant is up on the hill of Las Galeras, with a wonderful sea view. This is a quiet place to enjoy the typical Dominican food, sea food, lobsters, fish and chicken barbecue, and fresh drinks, in a nice cabane. Esmeralda and Gilson will be
When you meet a special family like this you are so overwhelmed that you canât really describe the feelings.First night pescado frito with fried platano and cheese (made like 200 mt away by a farmer) was special so we decide to come back and try some of the traditional dishes.Second night: Sancocho (soup with meat and vegetables) very rich and delicious and âla bandera â (meat with rice and beans).Third night we ate some chicharrones (fried pork bits) and cheese. Everything was awesome, you can go there or call them and order what to have for dinner. You can feel the love there and thatâs the most beautiful thing beyond food. Ps donât miss the homemade mama Juana

Le BDM is a magic and real place, where Elena, Sabine et Jony prepare excellent salades, cocktails grilled meat and pescado muy fresco. The atmosphere is warm, enjoyable and happy, with very good music: I felt very good vibes during my stay, while eating top-quality food, drinking very well, playing ping-pong (Sabine is unbeatable) and enjoying the time together. El Cabito is an eco-friendly business, perched on the cliffs of Cabo Cabron, overlooking the spectacular Rincon Bay. It is a place where nature speaks for itself, and where one can feel a natural radiation of energy. Our vision for El Cabito is to create
Very interesting place, located on a cliff with an amazing ocean view. It is not brand new, fancy or modern ( the fence seems unstable so don't approach it if you have fear of heights:) but that is its charm and with couple of wooden tables, little library and and a sofa on the terrace, it gave me some old time feeling. Very cute. There are goats and chickens, tropical plants in the yard and it gives the local flavor as well. We didn't try food but looking at the sunset with the beer was enough for us to have a nice time there. El Cabito is easy to reach by foot, decent road with the banana trees all around.

La Bodeguita is a restaurant Tapas & Bar in Las Galeras With Fusion Tapas Drinks, Cocktails, Ice Cream and various types of Tapas good restaurant Good atmosphere, and Good vibes Happy Hours
We ate at this restaurant twice out of pure convenience, as itâs centrally located. The location and interior of the restaurant are its best features. Everything else about our experience was fineânot bad but not good. The service was slow and seemed inconsistent between tables. The food was OKâwe had tapas one night and entrees the next. The staff seemed to cater to the many French tourists who were frequenting the restaurant. Make sure to use a credit card or local currency, as the exchange rate was very poor.Thank you for your comment
