Find out what Caribbean restaurants to try in La Ceiba. La Ceiba (Spanish pronunciation: [la ˈseiβa]) is a port city on the northern coast of Honduras in Central America. It is located on the southern edge of the Caribbean, forming part of the south eastern boundary of the Gulf of Honduras. With an estimated population of over 200,000 living in approximately 170 residential areas (called colonias or barrios), it is the third largest city in the country and the capital of the Honduran department of Atlántida. La Ceiba was officially founded on 23 August 1877. The city was named after a giant ceiba tree which grew near the old dock. The dock itself finally fell into the sea in late 2007. The city has been officially proclaimed the "Eco-Tourism Capital of Honduras" as well as the "Entertainment Capital of Honduras". Every year, on the third or fourth Saturday of May, the city holds its famous carnival to commemorate Isidore the Laborer (Spanish San Isidro Labrador). During this time, the city is host to approximately 500,000 tourists.

We had a wonderful meal at La Jungla last week, and I was very impressed by the quality and presentation of the meals. I had Lionfish fillet in Coconut and it was absolutely delicious. Also while talking to the owners we found out that everything they serve is home made and no processed foods are used. On top of it the location is fabulous, and sitting in the Jungle while listening to the creek, having this amazing meal was priceless. We'll be back!Thank you so much for this great review!Yes, we try to serve the freshest, locally purchased foods we could possibly get! Thanks also for recommending the location itself and welcome back to Restaurante La Jungla any time!thanks again!

A small hotel on the Beach like a Bed and Breakfast
Our mission team of 11 ate a very late dinner here recdntly. Richard was totally accomodating. The food was good , sandwiches, pasta, fries, seafood, etc. The service was a bit slow because the power kept going out- no real worries. Prices were fair enough and he was very friendly and spent much time visiting with us. The beach location is the real draw for this place. Super.I hope is not late to say thank you,I just wanted you to know that we truly enjoy your stay with us and feel honored to be chosen La Delphina. thank you Richard
This is a wonderful little spot just off the main road. The Cubano was excellent. Nice place for a romantic dinner (or lunch) if you can catch them while the kids are in school. Excellent service. Probably would've given this place a Very Good rating if it hadn't been for the nursery atmosphere (seemed like they may be running a daycare from the restaurant).

It's a family type restaurant, very cozy and the service is very friendly. Two areas climatized for your confort, typical Honduran food, coffee drinks.
This place is attached to Buen Amigos souvenir shop (which by the way is a great place also). Tipi-Ktracho is a family run restaurant a short cab ride from the central park. The chef and owner is very accommodating to your special needs. She even brought us a free sample of something she made in addition to what we ordered. We made a point of returning a couple more times during our week long stay. We would highly recommend a visit if you are in La Ceiba.
My wife and I have been here several times during our stay in La Ceiba. Excellent every time. The service was friendly and attentive. Genuinely cared about you experience. The food was exceptional. Beautiful presentations, generous portions, very inexpensive, fresh and delicious. Great drinks, great views of the beach and park from the upstairs deck. Highly recommended. Try the lobster!

We loved the fish soup and the fried fish. The anafre was also good, Service is friendly and quick. Decor is OK, too bad for the ever-present TV screens everywhere, but this is just because I don't like watching TV while eating.

Our family has been living in the more remote Miskito Coast area of Honduras and were in La Ceiba picking up some family from the airport. Craving something of higher quality than the plato tipico, we took the short drive over to Paradise Found and found more than we expected. The property is very cute and the atmosphere in the palapa is perfect for relaxing over great food and Caribbean views. We ordered burgers, which as many reviewers have noted, are outstanding...one of the best we've ever had. We happened to mention that we had been sorely missing leafy green vegetables (they are rare in the Miskito Coast), and Dante whipped up a simple and delicious salad that was just what we were needing. He threw in a side of Swiss chard that was out of this world. Oh...we forgot to mention that the prices are better than what you pay for sub-par food at other hotel restaurants in Ceiba. Not only was the food great, but we had a great time chatting with Dante and Kristin...they made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.Glad you enjoyed the Hydroponic lettuce and fresh Swiss Chard! Next time you need a sabbatical from the remoteness of La Moskitia, please come back to Sambo and visit us.God´s Speed,Dante´& Kristin
