In my opinion, if Rosita's is not on the list for your culinary experience while in Rio Dulce, you are doing your party a disservice. Before and during my trip I asked who had the best "Tapado" in Rio Dulce. The unanimous answer was Rosita's! My family and I walked from Las Viñas Hotel in the evening and came to the restaurant after walking through the lit boardwalks in the bayou. Reminded me of some restaurants in Baton Rouge, LA and Savannah, GA. Now the food... The best Tapado I have had in Guatemala. The caldo and seafood were perfectly cooked. My family had shrimp and other seafood and enjoyed every bit of it. Go and Enjoy

Best on the water dining in the entire Rio Dulce. Panoramic views with wonderful food served quickly in an elegant ambiance. Mojitos and Pina Coladas, other drinks made from scratch. Belgian waffles, crepes, filet mignon, asian inspired salads, Cuban sand
Our experience at Tortugal was fantastic! Every meal was great, served in a timely manner and with a smile. I had read reviews that the food and service weren't great, but our experience could not have been more different. We enjoyed the traditional breakfast options offered, including unlimited coffee bar. Dinner was great, with the exception of one night when we had pizza (the special that night) that wasn't fantastic. The shrimp Tortugal dinner with mashed potatoes was by far my favorite evening meal. Great drinks with embellished garnishes. We enjoyed the different spaces to dine at the restaurant (bar, library table, waterside tables). The staff was fantastic for our entire stay, especially Leo and Herbert.
The TV is quite loud. I sat curbside to avoid the sound of the very loud TV, and yet it was still blaring in my ears. Food is avarage. I had the conch with fries. Frozen fries seem to be standard in Livingston. And I have started carrying my own Pepper shaker around with me because the restaurants don't seem to have black pepper (or any seasoning). The beer was cold, although only two choices, Corona or Brava.
