Things to do in Guanica
We were planning to order a pizza but there were 5 pizzas already ordered before us. However, the other entrees were better than expected. We ordered the pasta penne in alfredo sauce with a skirt steak. On the not so positive side, the portion was small and the skirt steak was overcooked. Taste was good thou. Same happened with the milanesa with french fries. Small portion but fair taste. Wife had the shrimp tacos. Good portion and taste was fair. Service was very good and place is cozy. Still need to try the pizza.
While Guavate, south of San Juan, (see Tripadvisor "Guavate") is the be-all (I hesitate to say mecca) of lechon, if you are in the Guánica area there is an excellent lechonera on Route PR-116, near a Puma filling station. It is well-known locally so most people can direct you to it.The Lechonera Guaniqueña is as simple a place as you can imagine. Most people coming to it are buying lechon and all its accoutrements to take home or to the beach, but there are two or three tables inside if you are not taking-out. We stopped in on a Sunday, big families arriving, the roasting pigs in the back, the yucca, tostones, rice and beans, yautia in big trays. We had more than our fill and enjoyed the comings and goings. At the end the bill was $14 total. Later that day they were having local musicians and dancing and we greatly regretted we could not stay. The lechon was superb.
While driving around came discover this awesome place on the side of rd 116, near the top of a slope with an awesome view of Guanica bay. The empabadillas are exquisite, the drinks are flavorfull and the local food is tasty. A must stop for anyone.

We visited this family-owned small restaurant by the sea twice for lunch and dinner. The service is homely, comfortable and friendly. Their food is super fresh! The local fishermen provide the catch of the day. On a hot afternoon we tasted "empanadas" de juey, pulpo, mero with cold beers and we couldn't decide which was the best. For dinner we ordered the mamposteao de mariscos and Glory suggested one order is enough for 2. So be it! Lots of shrimp, pieces of lobster, mero, and carrucho. It's not a fancy place, but if you're looking for fresh, delicious food, clean and picturesque with reasonable prices, this is the place when visiting Playa Santa in Guancia. On weekends, there is a waiting line, and the wait is worth it!
Seafood and creole food restaurant in Guanica's bay area with specialties in green plantain sandwich, rice with crab, fried fish, fresh octopus and conch.
I visit the place with my partner. We enjoyed some cold beers. I tried the Plantain Sandwich with mixture of seafood. My partner tried the red snapper with rice. The food was great, and the wait time was worth it. You can't leave without trying the fish soup.

Carlitos kitchen is the kind of place that you can enjoy and love easily. The treatment, food delicious and familiarity is excellent. Fast service, great virgin pinas coladas and other drinks are perfect. Not forgetting the music, people and billar and the view. It is a great place to bring family; friends and just to chill. Guanica and Poblado Ensenada has a great place to eat..

If you're looking for amazing food with hospitable service & a great ambience, this restaurant delivers on all. Pre-father's day dinner was a big hit thanks to our great experience at Trasiego. We had fried calamari as an appetizer (delicious), and my husband had the churrasco with plantain mofongo. The churrasco was super tasty, tender & cooked at the right temperature. I had the conch salad with yuca plantain & it was very delicious as well. The portions are big, so after appetizers & main entree we had no room for dessert. The food was delivered pretty fast. Our server was super friendly & attentive. The restaurant has a modern look and feel, very nicely decorated, & has plenty of room to sit couples or groups & families. There's outside seating & a really nice bar. I will definitely stop by again when in the Guánica area. It was a great value for the money & a great experience.

I visited this restaurant on the Guanica broadwalk two weeks ago and found it small and with few tables, unlike those I have visited in âLa Pargueraâ and âCombateâ. The owner is an excellent host that welcomes you with great joy. The owner is also the bar
I highly recommend this restaurant. Itâs a little hole in the wall. The decor is simple, but the seafood is spectacular. I had the Captain fish, a local delicacy. One the fish dishes I have ever had. Nice bar full of locals.
