We have made the Windlass a regular stop for fish and chips. Service is prompt and friendly. Fish is fresh and done in a light crispy batter. Out of the back is a view over Kelly's Cove and the Yarmouth Lighthouse that is always changing. Prices are reasonable and portions generous.

Enjoy the excellent cuisine at the Gales' Eatery Restaurant. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu boasts many seafood delights fresh from the waters surrounding Yarmouth.
Joan was my server and was phenomenal!!! I asked about the seafood salad and she said I would love it. She read my mind as she even asked about a glass of wine. My meal was delicious. I cannot rate this restaurant and itâs service high enough thanks to Joan!!!Charlana M, We are thrilled that you enjoyed one of our new dishes on our new menu, Joan is a wonderful waitress as well as all our other servers and I will gladly pass the compliment along to her.looking forward to your next visit with us.

Best deal here is fish bites and fries, cheep and good portion. Otherwise it is all pre frozen boxed stuff. ice cream is from Nestle which is odd for a Nova Scotia take out joint. No soft serve. Handy location if out for a walk on the waterfront of Yarmouth and looking for a quick(ish) bite.

Yarmouths late night food specialists . You must try us out as nobody does it better than us. Every day deals on fresh pizza. Healthy alternatives available.
I would avoid anything with chicken here, it is not cooked fresh to order, generally par cooked and left warm on top of the pizza oven or elsewhere. Donair here is very good and burgers and seafood generally quite good. Pizza is inconsistent, some times light crispy really nice dough, other times thick and seemingly under cooked dough. Also they do no use actual pepperoni on the pizza, it is salami. Wish they would stick to just the nice crisp light one and use higher quality pizza ingredients. The Lebanese food they offer is good mostly.

One of my fav seafood and pie place of all time...i absolutely LOVE Merns! The owner is so nice and she makes the most amazing pies..they look incredible and taste amazing!! I tool my Albertan boyfriend there during his visit..he asked the owner about her smoked salmon and egg sauce as he had never heard of egg sauce before. Next thing we knew..she brought out a generous sample side for him to try and he loved it and all the other food he tried.Fav place for clams still...Cannot wait till summer to go back!

Local home cooked Canadian fare, including excellent seafood chowder and fish. They are modifying/modernizing their menu somewhat, with some sad results. Most notably the mile high meringue pies are not made regularly, and the "shorter" version of the lemon is too rubbery - almost tastes packaged....

The proprietor of the B&B motel, Matthew suggested this restaurant which was in walking distance from where we were staying. We drove in on a motorcycle and did not feel like getting back on the bike. We were not disappointed. We considered the other TripAdvisor high rated restaurant within walking distance meal but opted to stay here once we walked in and saw how nice the atmosphere was and how varied the food menu was. The service was very efficient, much better than any of the places that we have been while we have been touring Canada. They have a lot of Italian food seafood salads and desserts. My husband and I eat fairly simply so we just had a Greek salad and the chicken dish which was delicious. Everything is freshly cooked. Good prices as well. Highly recommend trying this place out. We learned that this is open year-round.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to try this restaurant on our day trip to Yarmouth. The place is fairly good sized, with an assortment of booths and tables. The menu is large, with everything from seafood, to sandwiches, soups to all day breakfasts. It took us awhile to decide what to order! We were surprised at the variety and pleased at the prices. One ordered a hamburger, with a side of coleslaw.. one ordered a turkey salad sandwich, one ordered the haddock and scallops platter and one ordered the Captain's platter which was huge!! For $23 the Captain's platter came with haddock, scallops and clams as well as small dish of creamed lobster. Seriously. we would go back for the creamed lobster alone!!We were all very pleased with the quality and quantity of food. The fried items were not greasy, the batter was light, and the seafood was fresh. This will be our go-to restaurant in Yarmouth from now on.Lunch for 4 was approximately $60 and we were all very happy.

Specializing in sandwiches, soups, bread and pastries. All made fresh every day. Fair trade organic coffee roasted on site.
I meet friends here frequently for coffee and a snack. Service is always prompt and friendly. Recently ordered sandwiches to go for the first time. They were really good. Fresh baked pita-like Canadian brown bread (many types available), freshly roasted sandwich meat (beef, chicken, lamb, pork), and fresh veggies. Only drawback was no potato chips, but I strolled down the street and picked them up.
