Find out what Canadian restaurants to try in Vancouver. Canada's largest metropolis, Vancouver is a city of varied landscapes and diverse population. Its mix of the scenic and urban mean that weekenders can spend the morning taking advantage of its beaches, ski mountains, and hiking trails, only to kick back in the evening at first-rate restaurants and wine bars among a labyrinth of skyscrapers. As friendly and welcoming as it is ethnically diverse, the streets are crowded with different languages being spoken everywhere, and the city's sights, sounds, and flavors are a hodgepodge of warm multiculturalism. It is a haven both for the urbanite and the sportsman, offering all the sophistication of a modern city center, with a strong focus on the arts and a burgeoning cafe culture, but with charming suburban outlets and easy outdoor day trips. Though the city is often split into three districts, Vancouver and its surrounding environs feature multiple neighbourhoods, each with their own character and draw, in one massive conglomeration. Take your time and explore as many of them as possible.

What can I say!! I was visiting from Texas and read the reviews on the place. Jam is Fantastic!! So much so I went back before my flight that Monday. You're kind of put off by the line especially in the rain but it goes quick. My server "Dana" was AWESOME, FANTASTIC AND ATTENTIVE. We were so overwhelmed with all the food choices we over ordered!! I love this place!! Its a treat and must place to eat in Vancouver. Jam!! You definitely have a place in this Texan's heartâ¤

We had the tasting menu. Crazy delicious. Complex, layered flavors. One of the most delicious meals we have had anywhere in the world. Excellent service, good ambiance, delicious cocktails. If we lived here, we'd eat here all the time. Given the weak Canadian dollar, this was, frankly, a bargain!

Delicious contemporary local cuisine made with fresh local ingredients. The well prepared dishes and intimate atmosphere will leave you with a dining experience not to be forgotten.
Four of us tasted all offerings from the special Vancouver Dines menu. Superb apps, Foie gras, very good, oysters, scallops truely all great. The mains included duck confit, Ling Cod, beef tenderloin again superb,The kitchen has itâs act together. Timing, right on, all artfully done and presented with panache. Desserts - I repeat myself. The wine cellar is likely one of the best in Vancouver. Service is polished and charming. An outstanding experience.

It has been a number of years since I last ate at this restaurant. The place was packed. All tables were filled. Waitstaff was very attentive. The only downside was that I thought that our waiter was a little too glib with his responses to questions that my table mates had. The food was well presented and tasteful. We The wine selection was good. We selected several BC winesThank you for your candid feedback. We will make sure our staff is more sincere and genuine for all guests. We were really looking forward to the experience given the previous reviews but unfortunately, we came away not sharing these positive feelings. The appetizers (and because there were four of us we had quite a few) were generally very good. The only exception being the roe on kelp. Our main courses (pot bison and snapper) were extremely disappointing......little taste and the after effects disrupting. We wonât be going back.

Went last evening with a good friend, for dinner. Very nice ambiance. Well spaced tables so we could hear our conversation and not others. Comfortable setting. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. I had lame and the other two had the duck. Beautifully prepared. And the Sommelier suggested a very nice wine which complimented both meals. We would happily returnDear Stuart-Barbara,Thank you for dining at Bacchus Restaurant, I am glad that you enjoyed the comfortable setting and the attentive service. I will share with Chef Montgomery and his team that you were a fan of the rack of lamb and the duck. I am pleased that you enjoyed the wine pairing and we will look forward to your next visit.Sincerely,Edward SweetmanFood and Beverage Manager

My wife and I managed to get away to Vancouver this past weekend as I was speaking at a conference. We looked for a restaurant within walking distance of the conference venue where we were also staying, and when I came across Market at the top of Vancouver's restaurants on Trip Advisor, I decided to make a reservation. My wife and I have eaten at Jean Georges on Central Park West and hoped for a similar experience (though its REALLY HARD to beat that New York experience). The restaurant was stylishly done, dark but comfortable. The energy in the restaurant was subdued, but busy for a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night. The host, our server and the waitstaff were all incredibly polite and helpful. Our view down Thurlow was nice as well! For appetizers, I had the tuna tartare and my wife had the mushroom soup. Both were incredibly delicious. For our mains, I had a wagyu beef sirloin with seasonal vegetables and my wife had the risotto. Both were amazing, but my seasonal root vegetables were a bit on the firm and dry side. For dessert, my wife had the lava cake and I had a selection of gelatos. Our final bill for the evening was surprisingly reasonable for Vancouver's top rated TA restaurant. I've paid more for meals in Vancouver before our Market experience, and I did enjoy our meal experience greatly. I will hopefully enjoy dining here again in the future!Dear YYC_JustinC,We greatly appreciate the time and effort taken to share this review. I am thrilled you enjoyed your dining experience at Market by Jean-Georges, Vancouver. Your kind words about our staff leave me with the most pride, as they are the true gem of our property. I am pleased you enjoyed your delicious seasonal and local dishes. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!Kind regards,Mitchell Kerr, Restaurant Manager
