The Satellite Bar & Grille at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is located in the seaside community of Cobble Hill, amongst some of Vancouver Islandâs finest wineries and the Cowichan Valleyâs only Cidery. Arbutus Ridge is a 40-minute drive north from Victoria and
Thirteen of us who live locally and have known each other for a long time. Wonderful setting with views across the golf course to the sea, Saltspring Island and the coastal mountains. Mount Baker can be seen from the deck and the sunset is spectacular. We had wonderful service from Sarina and her coworkers who treated us above and beyond...! The menu was a mixture of burgers and salads, and some interesting main dishes with monthly specialities. The chowder was excellent. Wines add to the cost, of course but not to expensive and a reasonable selectoin of these and ales. Desserts , I was told were good. Although the kitchen closed around 8.00 pm we were not pushed to leave and sat with coffee and good conversation until close to 9.0 pm. Main course all seemed to be less than 20 dollars which seems to be excellent pricing for a great evening with friends.Thank you for the detailed review. We appreciate the time you took to offer your feedback!

We were a party of 10ppl that went up to Unsworth for an afternoon of some wine tasting and lunch from Victoria..Wow were we impressed! From the friendly and informative wine tour and tasting to an amazing outside lunch. The property itself is beautiful and they have really done a great job with the various outside areas, grounds and tasting room.As a party of 10 i was expecting a "Set" menu but we were all able to order al a carte.. Mark our server was outstanding as was his support team when it came time for plating the meals and clearing the tables. A true team effort which is key in the restaurant biz...Well done! The Chef and his team also have to be commended. Excellent menu and the food quality and presentation really exceeded expectations. Service and timing were bang on even though full busy restaurant. I'm sure all the staff are happy that Sept has rolled around and they can take a small breather. Would highly recommend this experience not to mention the wine! 2017 Pinot Noir and the Cuvee Sparkling were amazing!

The atmosphere of this place is great: it offers a beautiful view while staying semi-casual enough to arrive in everything from golf attire to t-shirts and shorts. The beer selection is great and sports a lot of the local breweries. On our most recent visit, we had the Roast Beef and the Thai bowl. The Roast Beef was perfectly cooked and came with veggies, mashed potatoes and a positively huge Yorkshire pudding. The Thai bowl, unfortunately, was a big miss. The bowl contents were great,or would have been if it weren't for the flavour of the sauce, which was advertised to be a coconut peanut sauce and instead it was a deep red colour (like spaghetti sauce) and tasted oddly like tomato soup was mixed with some spices and a bit of peanut oil. We'll go back, for the Roast Beef and beer.
In a small resort village, it seems very out of place to have a franchise sub stop. All the other businesses are interesting and when you eat or make a purchase you usually see the owner on the other side of the counter. Too bad the community could not stop a franchise from ruining the quaint village.
