Salty's was the specific place that my wife wanted to have her Birthday lunch. We arrived at 2:40pm and our server was Alisha. We both ordered the "Daily Special" which consisted of one piece of cod and 12 panko shrimp. The large portion of food was perfectly cooked and served piping hot. The homemade coleslaw was delicious as was the tartar sauce. Alisha's service was excellent, attentive without being forced. We think the prices on the menu are very reasonable. We have never had a bad meal here and will very definitely be back.

My wife and I ate there tonight. We were both in the mood for fish and chips. First of all, although the server was friendly we waited a long time to be served. I had the halibut, my wife the cod. The cod came battered with panko and was over cooked. The halibut had a beer batter that was light and very good. The fries were good, but the coleslaw was a little dry. We had to wait at least 10 minutes to get our bill which was not appreciated.

Got a good looking guy? Bring him for coffee and pie at the Pioneer Restaurant. After fighting traffic to get out of Victoria, itâs a great spot to stop and rest. The decor is fun. Set inside a log cabin with red cup lantern lights and a huge bison head watching over you, you just know the food is good.Greeted by a display case of delicious pies, One decides what to eat so that they can save room for pie. The kids options were reasonably priced and my daughter wolfed down her macaroni so fast that I didnât have time for a picture. They ended their kids meal with an u e cream cone which they ordered right from the ice cream display. We had the BBQ burger special for $10. My burger was a tad on the pink side so I sent it back. They gave me the option of recooking it for speed or to fire me up a new one. I chose the new one and it came hot, cooked through and delicious. My Hubble ordered Coconut Cream pie. Dusted with toasted coconut, it was scrumptious.Big scrumptious portion!Overall a good experience and oh yes, the coffee was great. What an awesome fully rounded review! We sure love your attention to detail just as we do! Is your hubby the one who danced in his chair after enjoying his pie? The pies and coffee will always be waiting for you! Thanks from all of us here at P House!

Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Home style cooking. All meats are cooked in house. Family friendly. Can accommodate large functions with reservations. Take out available. Fast and friendly service! Locally owned and operated
You should definitely eat here!It is so refreshing not eating at a chain restaurant. This diner offers a great menu and massive (American-sized) servings for an excellent price. The diner looks basic from the outside, but the food is excellent! I ate both dinner and breakfast here and I loved it!

A gem in Duncan. The food was good, the service fast and polite, and the prices reasonable. Itâs easy to see why this restaurant has been a Duncan fixture for so long.

A well established local hot spot, we are famous for fresh food and hand crafted beer; as well as fun, energetic staff and a great atmosphere!
This a nice brew pub who produce a really good lager, do excellent food and thereâs always a pretty decent atmosphere. We were in once (many moons ago) and there was a terribly loud and terribly bad singer playing but Iâve only seen that the one time.Dropped by for dinner yesterday and were immediately told by the server that there would be a bit of a delay with our food because it was so busy but I canât say either of us noticed it taking particularly long. Crispy chicken burger, steak sandwich or fish tacos are excellent and their fries are my absolute favourite. Their onion rings are good too!Staff are always great as well - they pay enough attention that theyâre always there when you need something but not constantly bugging you.

Family owned and operated local hotspot for craft beer, local wine, fresh food and house-made desserts!
Passing through Duncan on Sunday evening we were looking for a restaurant for dinner. Most downtown places were closed. Just Jake's looked inviting so we gave it a try. We were met by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. Lots of good choices on the menu. I choose the Ruben sandwich. Interesting bread and filling. Our meals were excellent as was the service by our server. Excellent craft beer. The atmosphere was unique and not too noisy. Prices were fair and we were very satisfied.

Nestled in the tranquility of picturesque Genoa Bay on Vancouver Island, about 1 hour north of Victoria and only 20 minutes from Duncan, the Genoa Bay Café has rewarded guests with one of the most delightful dining experiences in the Cowichan Valley.
Four of us had lunch here recently. Lovely sunny day so we sat outside on the deck overlooking the marina. Lots of serving staff standing around when we entered the restaurant. Promptly seated and the waitress was friendly but in a way that was more suited to entering a bar. If you are charging high prices then the service should match. Spinach salad was good but the calamari had way too much coating on it but the portion was generous. The huge disappointment were the lamb burgers which we all had. Very little flavour, lacking seasoning and the texture and mouthfeel was awful. Not sure how they make these but I see that another reviewer mentions rice flour as a filler. Had to ask several times with different servers to get water glasses refilled. The prices do not match the service or the quality of food so unfortunately we will not be going back in the near future.

Organic and biodynamic farm and cafe. A real farm to table restaurant.
This is a small operation but everything was welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. My baby loved everything I gave her from my plate. Child/infant friendly. The prices are super reasonable. I loved everything except the dessert which was just ok for me (I am a really decent baker so I have pretty high standards when it comes to I could have made that at home). All in all I 100% recommend.

The Satellite Bar & Grille at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is located in the seaside community of Cobble Hill, amongst some of Vancouver Islandâs finest wineries and the Cowichan Valleyâs only Cidery. Arbutus Ridge is a 40-minute drive north from Victoria and
Thirteen of us who live locally and have known each other for a long time. Wonderful setting with views across the golf course to the sea, Saltspring Island and the coastal mountains. Mount Baker can be seen from the deck and the sunset is spectacular. We had wonderful service from Sarina and her coworkers who treated us above and beyond...! The menu was a mixture of burgers and salads, and some interesting main dishes with monthly specialities. The chowder was excellent. Wines add to the cost, of course but not to expensive and a reasonable selectoin of these and ales. Desserts , I was told were good. Although the kitchen closed around 8.00 pm we were not pushed to leave and sat with coffee and good conversation until close to 9.0 pm. Main course all seemed to be less than 20 dollars which seems to be excellent pricing for a great evening with friends.Thank you for the detailed review. We appreciate the time you took to offer your feedback!
