Casual fine dining, outdoor seating, cooking classes and winemakers dinners. Leaders in food quality, service and atmosphere.
Ordered calamari and my business associate commented on the odor of the plate. I tried a small piece and it seemed abnormal. My friend wanted me to put it on another table because he couldnât stand the smell of the calamari so I returned it to the server at the side station. They took the calamari off our check and the server somewhat apologized for the incident. Service was polite, punctual and friendly but we waited a long time for her to ask if we wanted another drink. My tuna main course was exceptionalHi T6434AXstevel,Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, and for your honest words. We appreciate your understanding, and of course would never request you pay for something you didn't enjoy. Our apologies about the long wait for additional drinks, we will be following up with your server in this regard. We're so glad you enjoyed the tuna nicoise, it is one of our most popular dishes!Hope to host you again soon, for a FABULOUS overall experience.

My brother in law took my husband here for a late lunch and hubby liked it so much we went the following week. I love this place. Great staff, the atmosphere is wonderful and the oysters and sauces were out of this world ! Although we stopped by just for a snack that time, we're definitely going back for dinner !

French inspired dishes served in a warm atmosphere.
Dined here for the first time with our friends and we are looking forward to going back. Service - Everyone was very friendly and attentive with keeping our water glasses full. Our server, Annie, was very engaging and funny, making us feel welcome and appreciated. The restaurant was full with the exception of two tables and yet the pace for each course was spot on. Food - Every dish ordered at our table was delicious. The escargot was the best Iâve had. Loved the pork tenderloin, beef and lamb and pasta dishes. The Skor brownie cake was scrumptious. I generally order a decaf coffee at the end of a nice meal and since itâs not popular I find it is barely warm. Not here - it was piping hot and good. My friend also commented that her cappuccino was the best sheâs had. Atmosphere - We dine at a high boy table. While itâs not my first choice we were actually quite thankful. The space is on the small side and it was quite on the bar side with only two of the four tables occupied. It allowed for a nicer meal because it wasnât as loud as the dining room side. All in all, we had a fabulous first experience at West Plains Bistro and will definitely return. They have an Early Bird Special between 4-5:30pm (3 course meal doe $30) and other specials on Monday and Tuesday. We will be back for more!

We had a lovely dinner on the patio last week. As always, the food, service and ambiance were excellent. I've written many reviews for this restaurant - in well over 10 years of patronage we have never had a misstep with anything. Which is rare. The menu doesn't seen to change drastically; every time we go we can get our old favourites, or try something new if we're in the mood. Desserts made in house are to die for. Please support local, independent business!

We had the pleasure of dining at Loondocks and we will definitely return. The menu is varied and features interesting seasonal offerings with considerable variety. I had the blackened cod which was great and my parents had the trout which was also delicious. The service was friendly but not overbearing. Very much worth the visit.

When you see high reviews on tripadvisor, you get high expectations for food quality and you hope to find a gem that will become your go to place. Unfortunately, our opinion has diverged from the opinions expressed by the majority here. We ordered a platter for 2, their signature shrimp appetizer, escargot, raviolli, and veal. The food on the platter was bland, especially samosas and garlic bread that had no garlic on it whatsoever. Shrimp and escargot were drowned in onion. I could not appreciate these dishes because the smell and texture of onion was so overpowering. There was also some unpleasant aftertaste from sauces that they poured generously over both dishes. The problem with both main dishes was that sauces had too much salt in them. May be it was just a weird day for their chef / sous chef? It just looks very strange that our experience with food at this place is so different from what others report. In any case, we will not be returning to check this out.

Gathered with some friends today for a birthday lunch and thought we would give this restaurant another shot. Well I am sure glad that we did! Everything was fantastic! Jackie was our server, she was exceptional; recommended items for the menu, told us about the specials, and took our order in a timely manner. The food came out in a beautiful production line, all at once and right on time, nice and hot and exactly as ordered. The rice bowls and salad bowls are delicious, and the turkey BLT were delicious, sweet potato fries were yummy⦠all fresh and good size portions.Jackie really made our lunchtime fun, and is a Super Server! Ambiance is nice as well, good noise level, not too loud for large group conversations! We will definitely be back here! Thanks Jackie :)
