Italian Restaurant
We are a vegetarian family and were craving more than just the standard pizza and pasta fare. The staff here pulled together a delicious veg spread with 2 kinds of Eggplant Parmigiana, antipasto, a spinach dish and fresh wholemeal bread plus plates of penne for the kids. Our best meal in a week of traveling in Italy!

Both the pasta and the meat were well-cooked and flavorful. The fusilli della nonna were served with ragu and a whole sausage, while the pasta with speck, pistachio and cream was pleasantly peculiar. Good-size portions. Simple but cozy environment. Family friendly. The only drawback was the long wait, even if the restaurant was not full.

I know, it is a bit out of the way, but do not be discouraged, this is worth a detour. The small restaurant is located behind the Agip gas station and it is a bit hard to find, just ask for detections. We had the pizza with the bufala mozzarella and the small tomatoes: divine! Excellent local wines and craft beer. Their philosophy is based on 'best food from the best ingredients': it shows!

Year after year this spot is worsening its service.Beautiful landscape over the sea and olive trees groove; that's not enough, if you aren't that fast. Excessive waiting to be served an interesting first course not followed by as far roast medley. It's a place in which spend some time with family and kins, but in the average of the patch

We met friends at the beach and they suggested we join them for dinner at Mamma Angelino's/ What a night and what a dinner. This restaurant is on the street that parallels the beach in Marina Casal Velino. If you walk out the restaurant's front door and cross the street you are on the beach! Our friend, who is Italian and lives in this town and owns the best bakery in town, Franco's Bar ordered our meal with the owner. Plate after plate of different fish came out. Each better than the previous. When I saw our friend about to order entrees, I said BASTA (enough) we all agreed. The food was fabulous and the service great. We will return.

I could have eaten other 10 pizzas with no problems at all. The dough was very soft and fluffy with very fresh and detailed ingredients for the topping. They also have other options available as they have a restaurant as well. I also have the chance to enjoy the fish menú. A really pleasant and fresh fish. The staff is really kind and attentive. If you are planning to have a journey in Ascea you can not miss this place.

We had several lunches and dinners over there during our 12 days stay in Ascea. La Porta Rosa offers great marine and terrestrial food at reasonable prices. Also good local wines and elicious home desserts. Very quick and friendly service. People say that they also serve a good pizza but we never tried it. What else to meet everybody's taste?
