Soban Teuk is not only a great place to enjoy an original and very tasty homemade khmer food (their duck curry is just memorable !!! ) but also a base camp to discover the lovely countryside around Kompong Thom.We visited Phnomh Santuk, a pre Angkorian temple with stunning lying Bouddha statues and hidden carvings and had a great motorbike ride crossing rice paddies, wooden bridges and beautiful landscapes. Thanks to our hosts Rico and Kunthy we discovered also many aspects of Cambodian farmers daily life. Highly recommendable for food lovers interested in local culture still unspoiled by mass tourism.

A friendly welcome and good service, but I'm afraid we found the food was rather disappointing. I felt my khmer red curry was bland. My husband thought his stir fried veg with peanuts was better...but the portions were small. I hate to be negative, but I'm afraid we just didn't think it was very good, especially for the price. This review is specific to Prey Pros River Restaurant on south side of Hwy 6 and west side the bridge. This has been a frequent stop for us with visiting teams for many years. The view, the photo ops and the food. All have been great. The food is not so good any more. Cheaper cuts of meat, knuckles of chicken instead of chicken meat. Rice is still rice. Staff has lost it’s friendliness. Gifts are way over priced. Now I will try other places.

We ae here on two successive evenings. The first time we had vegetarian spring rolls followed by Buffalo Lak Lok and Chicken Amok. With two beers, this cost $21.50. The second evenig we had spring rolls again (two kinds this time, less good then before and rather similar in taste), beef Khmer curry and chicken with tomato and coriander - all OK but slightly disappointing after the day before. The bill this time was $24.50. So the food for us was good but not outstanding and the prices reasonable for tourists, although high for locals.

Had two meals a day here for three days. Very good/excellent Khmer food. Great menu. Never had the same thing twice and always good meals. Good prices too. Staff pretty good too. Loved the place.
