Carencro (/ˈkærənkroʊ/; historically French: St.-Pierre) is a small city in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is a suburb of the nearby city of Lafayette. The population was 7,526 at the 2010 census, up from 6,120 in 2000. Its name is derived from the Cajun French word for buzzard: the spot where the community was settled was one where large flocks of buzzards roosted in the bald cypress trees. The name means "carrion crow."

Carol, Kathy, and Therese from Mississippi spent five days at "La Petite Voie de Therese" (Cottage), and I decided that they would enjoy a great experience at Buck & Johnnie's. A good friend of mine, Joyce suggested that I bring the ladies on Thursday evening to listen to Yvette Landry, (Singer & Guitar Player) , Richard Comeaux ( Steel Guitar Player,) and a famous Cajun musician by the name of Warren Storm. Wow! We were treated with two glasses of wine, and the Cobb Salad, Margarita Pizza, and the pasta dishes were just perfect. The ladies of Mississippi were excited to climb up the steps of an old Chevy Car Garage and Service Station. (Buck & Johnnie's). I was so happy that the ladies had a marvelous time and hopefully, I will see them again. Of course, I will bring these lovely ladies from Mississippi back to Buck and Johnnie's where the food and musicgo very well with a glass of wine.

After reading about Johnsonâs Boucaniere from multiple sources, I had to try it myself. I was delighted. An unpretentious place to get a delicious sandwich is what I discovered. Rather than recommend one, I suggest that you look over the menu and choose the one that most entices you. I ended my visit by purchasing some smoked sausage and boudin to take home.

Love the decor and the setup of this restaurant. Great service from the time you enter to the time you leave. Food is spectacular. Great flavor and properly proportioned. My only complaint was that it was noisy. Everyone seemed to be talking so loud as to talk over the table next to them which made the place loud.Thank you for your review! Yes, it can get noisy when we are slammed, such as when we have a pre-concert crowd. It is not typically that loud. Thanks again for your wonderful review of our food, service and decor!Steve S. This place is in a gas station. However, dont let that deter you from going. First, the place was very clean. As for the food: The pepper jack stuffed boudin balls are fabulous. I highly recommend these. The cracklin were well seasoned, but frankly a disappointment. They seemed like they were under the heating lamp a long time. Had they been fresh, they probably would have been great. The other disappointing thing was the line and time to check out. This took too long for the type of establishment. I bought smoked boudin to take home and it was a hit. We all found it well seasoned and flavorful. Same with the regular frozen boudin. Very pleased with boudin items.

It was a great evening for a couples night and we decided to try a new place. Boutinâs was a great choice. Seafood was fresh and plentiful. Good south Louisiana comfort food. The menu is full of real ole fashion seafood items (with a few new twist) that we grew up with. We will be back soon.

We had a great lunch with family. The place was packed. But very nice for our get together. Had to park in back which was ok. Our server Krista was attentive and excellent. Had a great shrimp poboy. The portion sizes were amazing. We'll defiantly be coming back to try out the rest!
