Reviews on Cafe food in York, England, United Kingdom. Just two hours north of London by rail, the city of York holds 1900 years' worth of history in its ancient walls. The Romans built the city in 71 AD, and the Vikings captured it in 866 AD. Stop by the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens for a look at what the Roman and Vikings left behind (they must have packed light when they left). From there, move on to the York Castle Museum for a not-so-quick overview of the most recent 400 years.

We are an independent, family run licensed cafe/restaurant situated in York's resurgent Micklegate. We have an all day Breakfast/Brunch Menu and a lunch menu which changes almost daily. We cook everything to order using the best quality fresh ingredients.
Excellent service, Really fantastic staff here, friendly, interesting people who want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. The food is never a disappointment. From countries all over the world, they have something for every taste from spicy to sublime. Where else can you get Korean food and Mexican Breakfast? Love it. When I am in York it is one of my destination restaurants..

York has a fine range of both chain and independent cafes. The chains do an excellent job and I use them frequently. However it is essential that we use our independent cafes as much as we can otherwise we will lose them! The independents provide a range of drinks and food which differs from many chains and they do so in unique and individual settings. Bruks is one such cafe. The quality and range of food from sandwiches to hot food will satisfy most tastes and pockets and the service is efficent and warm. The cafe is slightly hidden away between Parliament Street and Coney Street but is well worth searching out.

Preferring to have breakfast a little later in the morning we chose not to have it at our hotel. This wonderful cafe is only 10min walk from where we were staying so we popped in on our first morning and enjoyed a great breakfast of scrambled egg on toast with a pot of tea and my other half had a bacon and mushroom ciabatta also with a pot of tea. They dont script with the portions and the tea was lovely and strong. The place is light and airy with lots of art on the far wall and house plants on the window sills. The staff are really friendly and welcoming the service was very quick. As a result we came here for our breakfast every day for the next three days. A nice relaxed way to start our days exploring the beautiful city of York. Thank you

Unusual cakes, loved the courgette cake and pear and almond. Price wise about the same as many other local coffee shops. Very busy most of the time so we arrived late afternoon around 3.30pm. The sourdough sandwiches looked amazing too. Highly recommend and will visit again when I am in York.

A small little cafe thatâll sort out your morning hunger perfectly with the breakfast in a roll. Great value for money with a choice of rolls substantially filled with a choice of four fillings. I went for egg, sausage, black pudding and delicious crispy bacon. Washed down the pipe with freshly squeezed juice. Enjoy!

Our welcoming licensed café and deli has a distinctly European feel. We fuse French and Italian cuisine seamlessly with the best that Yorkshire has to offer.
Dropped in for lunch after a meeting and the place is usually quite busy, you can eat in or take out. We stayed in, friendly staff, very good food. The do a mixture from a light snack to more substantial specials, with the kitchen in full site of the restaurant. Also it is way bigger than it looks from the front.

Robinsons is an independent family run café serving Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch
Eat breakfast here the 1st day as it was just down the road from where we were staying. I loved the little outside area out the back. I enjoyed the Smashed Avo though my only comment was it would have been better if the Avocado had been on both slices of sourdough. Overall it was very nice and served a decent cup of coffee. I would go back if we were ever in York again

Popped in as I saw an ice cream counter marked âveganâ so I couldnât resist!! I had three scoops of Northern Bloc ice cream and was yummy!! I had the choc orange, peanut butter and hazelnut. Although I didnât get food, the deli was full, which is always a good sign and all the food being served looked lovely. Healthy and delicious looking Sandwiches, salads and cakes galore!
