Vallejo (/vəˈleɪ(h)oʊ/ və-LAY-(h)oh; Spanish: [baˈʎexo]) is a waterfront city in Solano County, California, located in the North Bay sub-region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Vallejo is geographically the closest North Bay city to the inner East Bay, so it is sometimes mistakenly associated with that region. The population was 115,942 at the 2010 census. It is the tenth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the largest in Solano County. Vallejo sits on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay, 30 miles north of San Francisco, the northwestern shore of the Carquinez Strait and the southern end of the Napa River, 15 miles south of Napa. The city is named after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, a native Californio, leading proponent of California's statehood, and one of the first members of the California State Senate; the neighboring city of Benicia is named for his wife, Francisca Benicia Carrillo de Vallejo.

Vaishnu Express Cafe is a hidden gem in Vallejo. It is, by far, the BEST Indian cuisine in the Vallejo / Benicia / American Canyon area. The samosas are beyond delicious, and a great bargain. This is a strictly vegetarian restaurant, and the choices are wonderful.

Eating breakfast here reminded me of why it is great to be an American. Watching the waitress (Amber) interact with the customers was so great! As she affectionately harassed one customer another said "I feel like I am at home!" It was like being in the middle of a movie! The breakfast was cooked to order, tasty and the portions were generous. The prices are reasonable. Go (especially if you are a tourist), order some breakfast, and let the show begin!

This place is great for a quick breakfast bite and some good coffee. My favorite foods are those without carbs, so I was a little disappointed in the selection of egg and meat dishes. I had a breakfast egg bowl with some bacon and veggies which was pretty good. My only complaint is I just wish there was a better selection of hot food protein dishes. There were a few nice bagel sandwich selections and the lox and cream cheese could not have been better.
The place was crowded when we went in and stayed that way. We just got in and were able to get a table right away. Great food and lots of locals love it. Kind of cramped seating but the food is good.

We usually go to our favorite for breakfast, downtown Vallejo, but decided to try out a new place. Pretty average food...omelet with link sausage was fair, and potatoes were bland. Wife's eggs were very good (over medium), but her bacon was very greasy. Then came the bread. Wondered why the waitress did not ask what type of toast we wanted...there is only one bread. I do not know what it was, but it does not go well with eggs. Good service however.

we were hungry for lunch and my friend is a vegetarian, so we fell into this joint and liked it! the omelet was superb and my pal's grilled cheese sandwich was the perfect combo of crispy fried bread and melty cheese.we're going back!
