Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Stavanger. With about 120,000 people, Stavanger is Norway’s fourth-largest city and a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history stretches back deep into the Middle Ages. Stavanger was once a tranquil coastal market town and then later an important fishing port. But it was the 1969 discovery of oil offshore that forever changed the now bustling city’s fortunes and landscape. Don’t miss the well-preserved old town (Gamle Stavanger), the unique Canning Museum or the 12th-century Stavanger Cathedral.

Great cafe off the main tourist path with decent lunchtime options. Really friendly staff and a lot of locals around which is usually the sign of a trusted establishment!

Been there twice, both times we ordered lunch/dinner. The staff is welcoming and the food is good. Not the best selection of beer. The tables outside are perfect for sunny weather and the view is beautiful, your in the inner city but youll get away from all the people and traffic up here. The inside is a bit dark and boring. Would reccomend it for a beer and some lunch in the sun. The salad may be one of the best i've had! The burger was ok+.

14 of us had booked an evening at Ostehuset arriving on time at 7 on a Friday evening. We had the menus sent by email so we could ensure there was something to fit everyoneâs taste. There are two menus. Small portions and evening food. Imagine our surprise when the waiter told us there was no evening menu that night. 14 hungry souls with small portions to choose from. Hey ho- nothing to be done even though the place was more or less empty! The wine list was good. The food we did choose was very tasty. But expensive for what we got. Strange place - a coffee shop / cafe trying to cross over into the restaurant space. Doesnât quite work for me.

I have an office at Innovation Dock, so get to eat at Lanya's on a regular basis, Lucky me!. I never bother looking at the menu as everything she serves is fantastic. She draws a lot from her Bajan roots, but puts her own twist on everything and its all yummy. She is also very accommodating for special requirements (glueten free / vegetarian or whatever). She has catered for some parties we have had as well, and always comes up with a winning menu at a great price to suit the occassion. The Kitchen is a really cozy small restaurant/cafe with the best view in Stavanger, I recommend booking in advance as it gets busy at lunch. In summary I highly recommend Lanya's food.

Excellent soup! Took a coffee with the soup, Saturday morning. Nice atmosphere, lovely decor, high ceiling, airy, low-key music, quiet, plenty of room. Did I mention the soup? Cheerful, chatty, welcoming staff, worth a visit! By the way, did I mention the excellent cauliflower soup? Worth a trip just for that! Using that famous line, "I'll be back!"
