Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Staunton. The city planners in Staunton, Virginia, were very careful to preserve the town's heritage, keeping power lines and cell towers out of view in the historic districts, allowing nothing to interrupt the charm of local restaurants and shops operating out of original Victorian storefronts. Staunton is also the home to the Frontier Culture Museum, The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and the American Shakespeare Center, staging plays at the world's only replica of the Blackfriars Playhouse.

This is one of my "go-to" places for lunch when I have out-of-town visitors to the area and they have never disappointed. Besides the tasty food, the staff is super friendly. I'll keep coming back!

Farmhouse Kitchen and Wares is a locally owned restaurant serving seasonal farm-to-table food, everyday housewares and one-of-a kind European finds.
Very quaint. Food was delicious although they were out of turkey and sausage our first choices. Staff was very apologetic and courteous. Farmer was dropping off tomatoes so yes a real farm to table experience. With a little more organization this would have been an exceptional experience.
Small, cozy cafe (formerly known as American Cafe) on 1st floor of restored American Hotel building, right next to train station. Husband had very good large turkey sandwich and I had an excellent Reuben-type sandwich with very nice lean corned beef, cole slaw and chipotle mayo. Sides are extra which is a little disappointing but sandwiches (stacks!) are very generous. Plenty of yummy sounding choices including homemade soup. Service was friendly and quick. They are going to start having take out salads and other things (or may have by now) so that will be a nice addition. Stacks catered a party for us recently in their cafe and it was outstanding. People raved about food, there was plenty of it and price was reasonable. They can also do large groups like weddings in the hotel banquet/ballroom which has a very nice historic style.
I live in Staunton and love cappuccino. I've sampled this drink in all parts of the globe and am always looking for a local spot that serves one that is up to world standards. I have tried cappuccinos everywhere in Staunton. I finally stopped by The Queen Bean in Terry Court Shopping Center and, yes, it is the best cappuccino in Staunton. As a bonus, there is plenty of parking right beside the shop. The owner and barista offers many other unique espresso drinks as well. And, of course, there is fine coffee. I've already been back three times. I may be hooked.
