Salcombe is a popular resort town in the South Hams district of Devon, south west England. The town is close to the mouth of the Kingsbridge Estuary, mostly built on the steep west side of the estuary. It lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The town's extensive waterfront and the naturally sheltered harbour formed by the estuary gave rise to its success as a boat and shipbuilding and sailing port and, in modern times, tourism especially in the form of pleasure sailing and yachting. The town is also home to a traditional shellfish fishing industry. The town is part of the electoral ward of Salcombe and Malborough, for which the 2011 census recorded a total population of 3,353.

THE UK's Best Craft Beer Bar 50 yards from the beach. Amazing homemade food using local produce. Awesome range of craft beers. Barista coffee, now with two floors and balcony with stunning sea views Open everyday from 10am until late.
Part of our visits to Hope Cove are the requisite crab sandwich in this restaurant. A really popular place with the countless walkers passing through. Opened up seating upstairs and if the sun is out, you can sit outside. This is the sort of place where you wish you had ordered what the people sat around you are eating.

Eating here was like stepping back in time. I don't think the owners have any great understanding of food. My cheese open sandwich was poor, with chucks of un grated cheese next to the grated. There was a real lack of vegetarian food on the menu and I may be wrong, but I don't remember seeing any vegan food at all. Salcombe is a trendy place and it's a shame the food is not better at Sailor V because the building is really good.

I donât write many reviews but I cannot describe my dissatisfaction with our lunch today. Service was poor, probably down to the fact that there just werenât enough staff to carry out table service. We waited ages and sat a table that was cleared but not wiped down. When I asked could we order I was told to wait a minute, so another 10 minute wait. But whatâs really upset me is the food. Having lived in Salcombe and Kingsbridge for the last 5 years, Iâve got used to paying a âholidaymakerâ premium for a reasonable/good quality meal. But £9.50 for a fish finger sandwich that was 3 out of the packet fishfingers and a desert spoon of coleslaw and a few salad leaves!!! Rest of the family had the ham, egg and chips generally better received although the frozen chips where very greasy. You can get better quality at a better price at any other restaurant in the South Hams.

The Kidz & Co is a café serving fresh, home cooked food everyday from 9-5. We provide a pushchair park, soft play area, games, toys and have a vast stock of fancy dress for your little ones to play with. We have our very own blend of coffee beans, freshly
Went during Salcombe busiest week. Plenty of business owners said it was the busiest they had seen Salcombe. And Kids and Co was rammed. But the staff were so lovely and accommodating. Always a smile despite being run off their feet. My kids (5.5 and 2) loved it. They didn't want to leave. As play cafes go it is a good size with lots of books, toys, dress up and a soft play area. Lovely coffee. Thank you for your review. We are so pleased you and your family enjoyed yourselves despite us being so busy. We hope you are looking forward to another holiday soon in Salcombe and get the chance to come and see us again :-)

This busy little breakfast and lunch cafe is situated right in the middle of the bustling seaside town overlooking the sea which is 50 yards away. Opening early in the morning for the local fishermen and then the passing tourist, it is a great place to ha
Area is infested by seagulls. The shop is mostly a takeaway, next to public benches and a carpark and no bins. The area is therefore covered in litter which attracts seagulls, mostly caused by food from this cafe.Seagulls constantly harass customers, steal food and leave droppings over the tables and sometimes their meals. The staff act insulted when customers ask for refunds or for them to prepare another meal. They're charging up to £10 for meals which cant cost more than £1 to make. It's not like they'd go out of business if they gave a damn about their customers and made up for the seagull problem they're plaguing the town with.We know the staff didn't make the policy, but there's no need for them to be childish about customers asking for what they'd reasonably expect anywhere else.
