A quirky, independent coffee shop & bakery in Ripon city centre. We make everything here on site... from bread, cakes & scones to hummus, chutney, jam & soup. We serve breakfast, lunch including soup, hot specials, sandwiches and toastie and homemade cake
You can't always guarantee that you'll be able to get something gluten free to eat so it was great that they did have an option.Chocolate brownie is a bit of a safe option though! The chocolate brownie was very nice and it was a good portion size but it would have been nice to have something in it like nuts maybe?Thank you so much for the 5 star review. You must of caught us in a gap between cakes selling out and ones being ready to go on sale as we aim to have at least 3 GF options including the brownies. Today we have Milk Choc brownies, Terrys Choc orange brownies, Carrot with Orange and Ginger marmalade cake & a raspberry and lemon cake. Thank you again for the review and feedback. See you soon :)

Ripon Walled Garden is a charity supporting young people and adults with learning difficulties achieve their life goals through horticulture and catering opportunities. Based just outside Ripon, our garden is a hidden gem and probably the best kept secret
Stopped here for a quick snack after walking round Studley Royal. Staff helpful and friendly. I was unsure if I would like the soup so they brought me a sample to taste (mushroom and stilton). Very tasty! Served with bread and butter. I will go back.Glad you enjoyed your visit, the soup changes so do come try us again... we have a few pumpkins to use up so I suspect that could end up on our winter menu!

A tearoom and cafe with new owners from April 2019 that offer speciality teas, bean to cup freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate and cold beverages. We also provide freshly homemade and cooked food to order from breakfasts, sandwiches, toasties and light m
Popped in here for lunch today and were delighted! Such friendly staff and lovely light lunch. Savoury scone was superb and large and went well with the soup. Toastie was great too! Also itâs one of those cafes that has the temperature just right and a good extractor fan in the kitchen so you donât leave smelling of someone elseâs lunch! A minor point but makes having lunch there even nicer!!Many thanks for your comments. It is great that you had a great experience in the Tearoom and I will pass on your comments to the staff. Those were the second batch of savoury scones made today. We sold out of the first batch before 11:30am! so more had to be made. We look forward to seeing you again when in Ripon.

MY family and I had Brunch here today. The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive and hard working. The café was spotlessly clean and the food was freshly served and very tasty. One of the family wanted only certain items ,on her breakfast, she got exactly what she wanted. We would recommend this little gem and will definately go again.

Chimes Cafe - only open during the day
We called in just after 12.15 as they had some tables free.Things appeared a little chaotic other diners were unable to order quiches & fruit scones the staff including chef / owner scurrying back & forth up & down the corridor every minute or two.Young waitress not particularly friendly/ helpful or informative in suggesting suitable alternatives. On the positive side the older staff were obviously trying hard to overcome the shortcomings and checking customers were served & happy, tea & teacake(fruit scone substutute)were both nice as was my wife's latte which was served hot.Looking at other reveiws I'm persuaded there was probable cause & this is not the usual level of service.Hi Sorry for today we did have a problem with staffing today. Stretching the team to its limits. We really pleased you could see past this and still give us a fair and honest review. We hope to see you again in the future. All the best Mark

Was fortunate enough to secure a table for 4 tonight for Indian tapas night This is a bring your own wine or beer evening and enjoy beautiful home made Indian food The restaurant was completely full plus a couple of tables outside on the rear terrace The food was divine - poppadums, chicken and mango salad, home made pickles, samosas, lamb and chicken kebabs, all sorts of exquisitely wonderful Indian delicacies. Real Indian family food - not a madras or korma to be seen Subtle spices which were blended cleverly The atmosphere was superb The food was genuinely outstanding Looking forward to our next visit
