Best Cafe food near Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany

Reviews on Cafe food in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. Founded by the Romans in 179 AD as Casta Regina (meaning Fortress by the River Regen), Regensburg is one of Germany's oldest towns. It was relatively spared from Allied bombings during World War II. Today, many flock to see the wonderfully intact old city and its many medieval structures. The 12th-century Stone Bridge was used by Crusaders en route to the Holy Land. The Regensburg Cathedral (or Dom St. Peter) is one of southern Germany's finest examples of Gothic architecture.

I've already been to Dahoam twice for breakfast/brunch which is set up as a buffet on saturday and sunday only. (until 2 pm possible). During the week you can choose your breakfast from a menu. Vegan options available. The small buffet includes free refill filtered coffee and tea. 13,50€ for a weekend's brunch in a lovely and cozy location - it is totally worth it, you should give it a try ;)

We really enjoyed our evening meal here. Pork steaks in a mustard sauce were very tasty with great green beans wrapped in bacon. On a summer evening you can sit outside and enjoy the location on the edge of a large square. Very helpful staff. Prices were extremely good value.

Kaminski

Easily missed due to its location in an alleyway, Kaminski's is a welcoming, cosy little cafe/bar that opens from breakfast time to around midnight. There are several tables outside which are nearly always full and some of the tables inside the bar look out into the alley. Great for people watching, with locals and tourists all passing by. Though it is an alleyway, typical of Regensburg its filled with several bars and restaurants. Tends to get more lively the later in the day. They specialise in Asian and Italian cuisine. My favourite is the Saigon wok, a variation of vietnamese curry, while my partner raved about the ratatouille. Their cake selection is small but nonetheless delicious, especially combined with a latte macchiato.Staff are friendly and hospitable, and most are good English speakers. Its the kind of place that once you visit, you will want to return!

Caffe Rinaldi

I spent a wonderful evening at Rinaldi with two of my most esteemed business partners. We were thrilled by the great service both Chris and Lorenzo provided to us. The wine card is mediocre at best and for an Italian place very disappointing. Should you be in Regensburg and want an amazing dinner with top wine, please check Luna Rosa, you will be getting better food and wine, while service at Rinaldi is top notch.

Anna

Reviewed By RandRCalifornia

I just loved Anna and we ate breakfast there 3 times. The place is big so there is enough seating yet still is cozy and has a really cute ambience. They have breakfast specials such as croissant with their house made jam and a cappuccino for $5.50 euro - They offer fresh juices and really really good tea. The Jasmine green tea smells gloriously like a jasmine flower. The house made quark ( like a thick yogurt) is super yummy - I'm not sure if they change flavors but I had it twice and it was a berry with tiny chocolate shavings in it. So good. We didn't try any of their cakes but I noticed they had 2 vegan options - one was a rhubarb crumble and looked so good but I was full :( The service is really friendly - you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. I do speak some German and they speak English but still let me practice patiently. I think if you are polite and ask to speak in English they will be very accommodating. You can buy individual tea bags for .60 euro and they have a small section of tea service items and chocolates you can also buy. I really wanted their hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream since I saw several people having that but once again...too full. Note - they give you a token for the restroom if you eat there free of charge. I really wish we had Anna where I live but then again I'd eat there every day so maybe its best to keep this gem in Germany.Thank you very very much for this detailed review!Best regards Karl v.
