Streetside eating at it's very best. When the holidaymakers go home this is one of those lovely, slightly off the beaten track, cafes that isnt crammed with visitors. Food is great, mixed tapas, gorgeous brownies for dessert with perfect ice cream, Its not the cheapest of eateries but then I want goods service, great food and a local environment and this ticks all the boxes.

We stumbled on Bar Africano whilst exploring near where we were staying. Glad we did. The owners are so friendly and the coffees and cakes we had were the best weâd had throughout our holiday. Then thereâs the view. Wish weâd found this place on our first day and not our last. We will definitely return next time we visit Madeira. Wonderful. Thank you só much for your coment. Restaurant staff were very enterprising by meeting passengers off the Yellow Bus who were either stopping or waiting to go on the smaller bus to Gabo Girão and inviting them to their establishment knowing that the wait for the bus could be 50 minutes. We had a good glass of wine and a beer whilst waiting.
