Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Pasadena. Most famous for hosting the annual New Year's Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl, Pasadena is more than just a football town. Its extravagant City Hall boasts a beautiful Baroque dome, a courtyard garden and relaxing fountain. On South Orange Boulevard, known as Millionaires' Row, there are landmarked mansions to rival the most opulent homes of Beverly Hills. That chattering in the air is probably the local population of naturalized Red-crowned Amazon parrots.

This restaurant has had a serious problem with service. Cold coffee. Forgetting items. Etc. etc. This was a delightful experience today. The coffee was very hot and delivered right away. The food was delivered correctly. And, as usual, the food and coffee is super delicious. Iâm so happy theyâve gotten their act together.

I went recently for the first time. My friend had heard about their long lines so we went early to avoid them. They have their own parking lots and there is parking on the street. There most definitely wasn't a line at this early hour on a Sunday. I ordered a breakfast bowl with greens and a poached egg. The poached egg was inedible, having been boiled with vinegar, far too much. I complained and nothing was offered to please this customer. The white beans at the bottom of the bowl were cooked the right amount but practically smothered in chopped, sautéed fennel. I like fennel but not that much. I tried to focus on the kale (which was raw). To finish the dish, they include a piece of crusty bread that was coated in cooking oil. The whole thing was disappointing. I had great coffee, though. The almond croissant had an armor of sugar/almond coating that have me a sugar rush for a few hours. I'll give it one more for fairness and to see what all these great reviews are about. I agree that it's a hip place for Pasadena which tends to be more old school.

The experience matches the title of this review. The neighborhood is typical of Pasadena along the parade route, a little pedestrian but seems to be safe. Parking could be a challenge. There is a $3 parking lot in back. The restaurant decor is retro and could use a touch up, but this is made up by the radiance of the staff.
