Nereo Ballestriero is a masterchef, creative, genious, kind and nice chef. The chef whose aim is to maximise the quality of the local product, seeking excellence in everything he does. When you have a business open from dawn to set (7am to 23:30h) you need a passion for the exquisite cuisine. He surprised us in every dish from beginning to end with fresh, light and delicious combination of anchovies, pasta, carpaccio, Barney and trufa, octopus, vegetables, everything. Despite the number of dishes, everything seemed so well orchestrated that we enjoyed every bite. Torinese also won Italian Gambito Rosso Award in 2010 and 2014, so we can guarantee they know how to make the best illy espresso and other coffee preparations. It was definitely a delight to all senses and we're sure we will come back. Palmanova is also a nice town near Trieste and Udine.

We visited here as a party of 7 yesterday afternoon for a quick bite to eat. The food selection wasn't great but we all found something we fancied. When our drinks arrived we asked for some straws which never arrived so we had to go to the bar ourselves. 4 of the 7 of us ordered hamburgers. Two arrived 25 minutes after the first two so we didn't get to eat together. It seemed locals didn't have the problems we did. One of us asked for some mayo, we waited and waited and waited and eventually went to the bar to get it to find out waitress serving behind the bar. She seemed annoyed we were chasing the mayo but our food was getting cold. I ordered a selection of meats and cheeses. There was a 20 minute gap between receiving the meats and the cheeses. We asked 4 times for the cheeses and eventually one type of cheese arrived. I am not sure what the delay was but surely a meat and cheese dish which is served uncooked should take no time at all to prepare and serve? They weren't happy with us at all here, I don't think they understood how annoying it was to chase something that was clearly stated on the menu! Because of the shocking service we missed our bus and in the end had to get a taxi. They reluctantly phoned one for us but they seem to have done it begrudgingly! I wish we had eaten elsewhere.

Tappa fissa per l aperitivo del sabato e non solo. Personale gentile che ti accoglie sempre con un sorriso. Ottimi vini e stuzzichini, non male neanche la birra!
