We went to café Pacifico to check it out based on Tripadvisor reviews and it was such a great discovery. We have gone back for breakfast and coffee ever since when in the área. The coffee is very good (something rare in Ourense as our experience has been hit and miss). The pastries are home made in-house and you think you have travelled to Paris, they are that good;, they are crispy and warm first thing in the morning and absolutely delicieux. The variety is small but so perfect. Toast are amazing, they have 3 different types of bread you can choose from and with different toppings, honey & cinnamon, Tomato & Olive Oil and Butter & Jam. The presentation alone is outstanding and oh so pretty, you even feel sorry you have to eat them! The place is as charming as its food. There is a large feature table at the back for clients to share (although spanish do not like to share their table with anyone! which I find it quite amusing). The staff are very helpful and profesional and it shows how much they like working there, they always serve you with a smile. It is such a pleasure to go there, and you tend to linger with a cup of coffee and your tablet/laptop working away. Couldn´t recommend it highly enough. Fingers crossed we can manage a evening meal reservation as it seems it is another treat to the tastebuds.

Charlottes is a lovely little bar and café in the midst of the city or Ourense. They welcome dogs (under control) and will provide them with a bowl of water. Reasonably priced and worth a visit.
Stumbled across this place after schlepping around Ourense during a bit of a heat wave. Ended some lunch and it seemed like every place was either a bar or a bakery. Finally came upon Open Cafe and we really liked it. Nothing fancy but the service was fantastic. The wait staff was positive, enthusiastic, friendly and engaging. Hubs had the grilled ham and cheese sandwich and I had one of the platos with calamari, croquettes, fries, pasta salad, and a fried egg. Everything was tasty. The total tab including a beer and two glasses of wine was under 15 Euro.Muchas gracias por su opinionâºâº,la verdad que fueron muy amables. Espero verlos por su proximo viaje a España. Un saludo enormee

A very popular spot for âchocolate con churrosâ, they were good but I had better in Orense. Place is usually pack making for a very average service.
