It is located 20 km west of its sister city Córdoba, and is adjacent to Río Blanco and Ixtaczoquitlán, on Federal Highways 180 and 190. The city had a 2005 census population of 117,273 and is almost coextensive with its small municipality, with only a few small areas outside the city. The municipality's population was 117,289 and it has an area of 27.97 km² (10.799 sq mi).

El desayuno está muuuuy sencillo VS precio. Hay uno que dice huevos âal gustoâ, sin embargo sólo tienen con jamón, revueltos, estrellados y a la mexicana. Entonces NO es al gusto. Te dan wafles y te dan UNA MINI MERMELADA, y si quieres más te la cobran! Qué pésimo servicio! Y de jugos sólo tenÃan de toronja, siendo que eran las 10am apenas! El servicio de los meseros fue pésimo.

El café es elaborado en comunidades de la Sierra de Zongolica, cerca de Orizaba, la administradora del negocio te explica las cualidades del café que es criollo, orgánico (libre de pesticidas y quÃmicos) y al probarlo compruebas su gran sabor, inigualable, venden unos panes llamados "conchas" con nata deliciosas, tiene vista a la calle, el local forrado de madera, como una cabaña amplia; todo muy limpio, el personal muy atento; una buena experiencia, sales de lo común.
