One of the owners practices Traditional Chinese Medicine and they offer a long list of medicinal teas - the menu is creatively showcased in vintage children's books - or written on the chalk boards near the ceiling. Breakfast includes quite a variety of excellent pancakes - order several to share as appetizers before the rest of your food arrives. The omelettes are excellent. Talking to the staff, we felt like we'd known them for one hundred years - so friendly, warm and welcoming. Service was excellent.Home fries are great, but so are the healthy alternatives (spinach with mushrooms!)The inside space is small and cozy - the outside space is a fabulous way to eat great food and enjoy spring.Wish we were local. We would be regulars!Wow, thank you so much. WE WISH YOU WERE LOCAL TOO!!hope to see you again next time you are in the area.cheers and happy dining.

If you want to breakfast at a place that treats you like family and serves up homemade foodâfrom sausages to raisin bread, the Tea Kettle delivers. The General Manager, Lee, was especially nice. I had a homemade raisin bread French toast and link sausage âdelectable! My husbandâs omelette was âthe best Iâve ever eatenâ to use his own words.

Pleasant place with a small but nice selection of light Italian plates: antipasti, a few pastas, a few panini, a few salads, coffees, gelato, pastries. A lovely crostata. The gelato selections were very good, but we didn't think much of the lactose-free sorbets. A nice place for a light lunch.
I am so pleased that Old Saybrook finally has a great vegan lunch place, serving hot food. We kicked our lunch off with a delicious kale soup, then the 3 dishes we ordered were pizza, a butternut calzone, and macaroni & cheese. All were delicious. For dessert we had chocolate cookies. Out of this world! We will be back!

A peaceful outside setting on the veranda overlooking the Lieutenant River. Inside seating available on inclement weather days. Light eclectic menu, something for everyone. Vegetarian Offerings. Locally sourced ingredients. You do not need to be a member
Cafe Flo has a beautiful setting on the Lieutenant River in Old Lyme. It's a peaceful place to relax and have lunch after visiting this wonderful museum and gardens. The food was good, but the portion was very small. I ordered the Baked Cod, and was told that it would take about 15 minutes to prepare. In reality, it was more like 45 minutes. My husband had the Waldorff Salad in a bed of lettuce. This was also a very small portion. I was told that the Lobster BLT was very good. It was served to someone at the next table, I think that would have been a better choice.

This is a very friendly little place on the main drag in Old Saybrook. We were in for breakfast, and were quickly seated and fixed up with tea and coffee. The Hash Benny sounded good, and they were. Corned beef hash on an english muffin, topped with Hollandaise and a poached egg. It was even better than it sounds! Our server was fast and very efficient, but still able to chat about the menu, town and cafe. Just a great experience all the way around!

Fantastic country store with a great deli - wonderful salads, sandwiches and prepared foods. Wonderful market selection & now quaint eat in tables!
As the tv series, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives has demonstrated many times, small towns often have delis/stores and restaurants with great culinary pedigree. Coffeys is one. Hidden behind a modest facade in a two store strip mall is a gem of a caterer and small grocer. Worth a visit to pickup a sandwich or dinner or even have your wedding catered. It can be that good!
