Small but friendly coffee shop and restaurant. Excellent service and choice of food and drinks. Soup was piping hot and delicious. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

We left home for a long travel up to Great Yarmouth and decided to have a nice, cooked breakfast on our way up to make a break in our journey. At Newmarket hubby decided he was hungry, so I looked on my TA app and found this place. So off we went to The Pantry. We parked in the nearby short stay car park and managed to find this place quite easily. It was just after 10.30am that we got here and we were amazed at just how busy it was.We noticed most people arriving seem to stop in the entrance area and wait to be greeted and sat down at an available table, although there isn't a notice telling you to do this! There's a big menu choice here. Hubby ordered a cooked breakfast and I, an eggs benedict. We had about a 15 minute wait for our food to arrive - which we felt was quite good considering how very busy it was here.Hubby loved his cooked breakfast, he had asked for white toast with it - see photo. My eggs benedict was on four big wedges of, I think, sourdough toast. The outside crusts were extremely hard and I just couldn't eat them, which was a shame. I thought this would come on muffins, which is the usual way - so it would be nice to have that option as I'd much prefer it. The toast I got seemed to be all crusts :(However, the hollandaise sauce was superb, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the ham also tasted really good quality - so I did enjoy this a lot.I had a latte with this and that was also excellent. Hubby asked for an elderflower cordial but it was so weak when he tasted it, he asked for some more cordial to be put in and that made it very nice! The costs for our breakfast were - latte £2.35 elderflower cordial £1 Pantry cooked breakfast £8 eggs benedict £8Total cost for breakfast £19.35Service was very good throughout our time here.
