The route between Ahrweiler and Dernau is so beautiful. The road, footpath and rail line all run parallel to each other as they wind through this fantastic valley. A natural broad leaf forest lines the valley walls on one side, and vines cover the other. And perfectly located along the way is Weinhaus Kriechel! As you settle into their quaint outdoor area and tuck into a glass of their own wine, you can't help but think "I could sit here forever"!But it's not just the scenery that makes this place special. The food is local, interesting, tasty, and good value. And a rarity in Germany, the service is genuinely friendly and attentive :-)

Eine Wohltat im Dorf, mal etwas anderes als traditionelle Weinreben-Lokale - mitten im Dorf Dernau ein freundlicher Ort mit sehr nettem Personal, echt gutem Kaffee und leckerem Kuchen. Haben die Pause sehr genossen!

We were here this summer. Really nice bread and pastries. The coffee was also really nice. Service was counter service and they were patient while we were making our choices. NIce experience overall for us.
